I wouldn't say I believe a woman SHOULD be home with her family but I do think it's a GOOD thing to have her around.
But I feel the SAME way about a father too...
Ideally I would be able to stay home with the kids b/c Michael would bring in enough money for me to be a SAHM!!

I believe a woman (and her husband or the children's father, if applicable) should choose what is appropriate for her family. For some, working is best. For others, staying home is best. I believe it's an individual choice that others shouldn't judge one way or the other.

I'm a SAHM, and my mother was home with us growing up. I told my DH that when I do get pregnant I will not work anymore, I want to be at home for my children everyday, thankGod I was able too!

What do I wish for or what is reality? I don't necessarily believe that all woman should automaticly have to stay home w/ the kids just because she is a woman. This being said, I wish I didn't have to work once we have kids. Unfortunately I don't think that it's reality for the majority of women to stay home anymore.

I don't think a woman SHOULD be home with her kids.
I'm happy that I'm able to choose if being a SAHM or a working mom is the right decision for me and in turn my family.

No, the woman has the right to go back to work after children - for some it is a necessity and for others, it's a choice.
I would love if jobs would give men the opportunity to stay at home for a few weeks with children. It might start a good balance within marriage relationships and such.

Me and My DH were both raised by SAHM's
I think it was a positive experience.
I dont think anyone should be forced into doing it, my sister is a working mom and she loves her job, but she has to work, i am sure if she could she would love to stay home.
I think its a luxury these days if a mom is able to stay home and raise her kids.

No I don't.
I voted other because it depends on the mom, the child and the family unit.
I do worry about SAHMs, their independence, their financial security. (Not to say that the only reason a person should work outside the home is finances.)

what if something happens to the main bread winner- and then you have no income and no skills- my Mom saw this happen to many of her friends
I was raised by my parents and a NANNY
and I turned out awesome
it's quality not quanity - my Mom and Dad worked- but they aslo were the coachs of the teams we played on and my Mom was the brownie leader
and b/c they both worked- I don't have any student loans and I wanted for nothing and I was and am extremely close with my parents (and I had an awesome nanny that thought me things they couldn't- like painting)
so there is my opinion in a nut shell
everyone needs to do what is best for there own family

I voted no...I think there are so many factors that come into play and it is such a personal family decision. I'm working on making it possible to be with my son while I work but not quite there yet

No, but I believe that the family should come first. My husband and I are able to work opposite schedules so we are blessed that one of us is able to be home with DD every day.
