Poll: Were you breastfed and do you plan to breastfeed?

I think many of us are of the generation where formula was the in thing. Now that tides seem to have shifted I'm wondering how many of us were nursed vs. ff and if that impacts what we are planning to do.

My mom came from Eastern European immigrants. I don't think there WAS another option in her mind, my siblings and I were all breastfed. I plan to breastfeed.

I was not breast fed. I had a lot of digestive issues and ended up on soy formula. I plan to breast feed.

I was not, born in 84 the formula generation for sure. I bf dd#1 for 2 years, plan to bf this time again.

I was BF, I BF my DS for 12m and plan to do the same this time around.

I was not breastfeed (no one in my family really did) but I did with my ds until he was 16 months and I will again with this .

I was not BF

DC #1 I BF for a few months then pumped and supplemented

DC #2 I plan on EBF as long as possible if possible!

I was breasted and didn't with my dd but plan to try it with this baby.

I was not BF. I BF DD until 15 months and I plan on BF this baby too.

I was and plan to. My mom is a huge BF supporter. I don't have the option to FF LOL

I don't know the details of how long she did, but I know my mom bf us and I did dd (only 3 months) and plan to for this child. Hopefully longer than 3 months.

Yes I was. I BF my oldest for a year (while being a ftwm) and hope to go as long with this baby.

I was not breastfed. My mom tried to breastfeed but she didn't produce enough milk so the doctor advised her to formula feed.

My plan is to breastfeed.

I wasn't but I BF DS for about 5 months (he self-weened when my milk supply started running low) and I plan to do so again with this DC.

I was formula fed and I'm going to TRY to breastfeed. The closer I get to my due date the more I want to do it but I don't want to stress myself out about it if I don't do it. My SIL cried for days and days, maybe even a couple weeks, because my niece wouldn't latch on. I don't want to do that. I want to try and relax, if he wants it and I'm ok with milk supply, then I'll do it. If not, not going to worry about it too much.

My mom BF my sisters and me back when it wasn't the norm and I wanted to BF my first child, but unfortunately it didn't work out. I do plan on trying to BF this baby though.

I was 100% formula fed. My mom just didn't plan to try bfing.
DH was breast fed for some time, then formula fed. Mil tried with all 3 kids.

I bf'ed DS til 18 months. My plan this time is to give it my best try and see how it goes.

I was NOT. My mom tried but she said the milk didn't come fast enough for me and I just screamed and screamed til she stuck a bottle in my mouth I planned to try with my first, but I was on meds that are expressed in BM (I tried to wean off of them with disastrous results). Same with #2.

This time, although I'm still on meds, I plan to ask if the benefits of at least colostrum are better than prolonged exposure to meds thru the placenta and BM.

ETA: DH was not BF

I was formula fed because I was born with a severe milk allergy and it was just easier.

Back when we first started trying and I got pregnant, etc. I was not planning on breast feeding. It just wasn't something that really interested me and to be honest it kind of freaked me out. Well..... after everything we went through and also with surrogacy and believing for so long that breastfeeding wouldn't even be a viable option, I am not 100% onboard and hoping it works out for me and the baby.
