I just called their customer service number. Yes, they will reimburse us for completely used containers. Unfortunately, there is nothing they will do about containers you don't have since they want you to actually send back the containers to them. They will send you a Fed Ex pre-paid package. It will take 4-6 weeks to get reimbursed by them. Or you can try to return them to the store you got them at.
Apparently this recall only happened a couple of hours ago. They said that ALL powder formula should be off the shelves until further notice. The only thing you can get now is the liquid and they are woking on getting stores to adjust the price so that it is equal to the power cost.

all powder formula off the shelves??? And what's the likelihood of my BRU adjusting the price before my DS is hungry again? Maybe it's not too late for me to bring my bm supply back up. 
Oh, it gets better.... just called the supermarket where I got the formula and they haven't heard about the recall yet.... so they still have it out on their shelves!
I didn't realize how new this recall was!! I got an email directing me to a post on my local Mom's group discussion board.

Thanks for posting.
Although DS is on RTF - I want to stock up since if it's anything like this Tylenol/Motrin recall - it will be awhile before it's resolved!

they are checking now since certain smaller cans have not been affected in certain similac (DS is on Sensitive)
the 12.6 oz can of similac sensitive IS NOT affected

Super. All of our containers are recalled. We do have some rtf, which DD isn't crazy about but...
Luckily she will be transitioning to milk in a few weeks. Maybe we'll start sooner rather than later.

OMG!!! I JUST finished feeding DD a bottle before reading this thread and it was the last 2 scoops of a recalled container!! I still have one full and I know I bought 6 containers at once and the 2 empty plus 1 full are all the same lot number which means that most likely the 3 that were already thrown out were probably also from the same lot!!
I am SOOOOOO disgusted and angered right now!!!
ETA Are the stores reimbursing if you have empty recalled containers too??

if you bought them at the same time and 1 is bad most likely all of them are
i got 3 from BJS and 2 from diapers.com and all are recalled

I just sent DH to the Target in Commack, powder is still on the shelf. I told him to tell customer service about the recall. He picked up the last two single serve boxes and a container of Enfimil premium infant to hold us over till I can figure out what to do.

Just called the TRU by my house & they had no idea I also told them about matching the price of the RTF to be the same as the formula & they just said to come in so I hope we can all get proper replacements.

Thank you for posting! DS gets Similac Neosure which doesn't seem to be part of the recall, but I'm going to call to doublecheck. Regardless, if they are going to pull all the powder off the shelves, I can see there being a LOT of empty shelves as people try to stock up on the alternatives!

i called my Ped about this and he recommended Enfamil Premium. i'm so upset, he's barely had formula (EBF for 5 months) and now I have to switch the only formula he does well on!
I don't care if the RTF bottles are okay, I'm not goign to support Similac and even buy it.
