Re: QUESTION: FOR THE 1ST WEEK YOU DC COMES HOME FROM HOSPITAL.
I personally wanted everyone to come over but when the time came I wanted no one around! It's more of a nuisance than anything!

Re: QUESTION: FOR THE 1ST WEEK YOU DC COMES HOME FROM HOSPITAL.
I had DH home for almost 3 weeks and my mom for about 10 days after DH went back to work. I had a c-section and definitely needed all the help I could get. I was exhausted, hormonal, and in pain. DD is almost a month old now and I finally feel like we are in a groove.

Re: QUESTION: FOR THE 1ST WEEK YOU DC COMES HOME FROM HOSPITAL.
Before I had the baby I would have told you I would love visitiors, the house was open! After, forget it! I didn't really love having a lot of visitors in the hospital, it felt like there was alwyas someone there and I wasn't feeling great. Once I got home, I was an emotional mess and was crying over nothing all day. All I wanted to do was sleep and be left alone. Luckily our families and friends gave us plenty of space, called before they came over, and only stayed a short time. I can't imagine having someone live with me right after the baby came home!

Re: QUESTION: FOR THE 1ST WEEK YOU DC COMES HOME FROM HOSPITAL.
I loved having my mom and sister around. Because they were not "company" but unbelievably helpful. With my first, my mom moved in with me for 2 Weeks. We both still smile when we think about that time. It was truly special time for both of us.
With my second, both my mom and sister were around pretty much every day for the first month or so. It allowed me to get some things done and again was incredibly special time.
When my sister had her second three years ago (her boys are 9 years apart), both my mother and I also were at her house pretty much daily for the first month and after that point whenever she needed us. I can't tell you how much I enjoyed helping with my nephew as I was pretty sure he was going to be my family's last baby.
So if you come from a close knit family who is around a lot, I'm guessing you will be fine with it. I also have to add that my husband always welcomed my family and was as grateful for the company and help as I was. If that's not the case it could get hairy.
Best of luck whatever you decide and I wish you the easiest of deliveries.

Re: QUESTION: FOR THE 1ST WEEK YOU DC COMES HOME FROM HOSPITAL.
I didnt want anyone near me besides my DH. But I usually dont on a regular basis so it was just really amplified once she was home. We had to figure out how to be a family before I could deal with anyone else.

Re: QUESTION: FOR THE 1ST WEEK YOU DC COMES HOME FROM HOSPITAL.
I had my mom, sister & best friends over the night we got home for a short visit then we were on our own for a few days just to get settled. We slowly let others come to our house over the next few days.
I am not good at accepting people's help. I felt like I wanted to get to know my little man a little better before having others pitch in. But I'm weird like that...
I think you should just play it by ear. Those who care about you will understand.

Re: QUESTION: FOR THE 1ST WEEK YOU DC COMES HOME FROM HOSPITAL.
I loved having people over who could take charge and didn't need to be waited on.
Those who came over to be "entertained" - not so much.
One niece cme over and took care of the baby, and then sent me out for a walk. When I came back she had made dinner and set the table for DH and me. That was the best visit I had.
I loved that people wanted to see my DD and coo over her and all that, but I wasn't up for entertaining. And I was glad the visits came after DH went back to work - I loved the private time we had together that first week.

Re: QUESTION: FOR THE 1ST WEEK YOU DC COMES HOME FROM HOSPITAL.
If you are feeling up to it, then let them come over, but do not ever hesitate to say how you feel. If you're tired, then say so, and go lay down. If you're feeling overwhelmed, then let your mom or sister know and let them take over with DD or as hosts if you have people over.
LET PEOPLE BRING FOOD!! That was major for us as I was readmitted a day after coming home for two days and DH didn't have time to do anything but take care of me and DS. My mom and sister always brought food and so did my bff. It's how we've always done things and it worked for us.
