Really? Why is that?
Is that cause you can tell what I am arguing with DH about right now? Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Question for the SAHMs

I do. I prepare it while they are napping, then when they wake up I put it in the oven. On the nights I don't want to or can't cook I suggest takeout or 'breakfast' and DH cooks that.

Re: Question for the SAHMs

I do...the only time DH cooks anything is when the BBQ is involved. I don't mind...personally i can't stand his cooking and figuring hes working all the time the least I can do is cook

Me--when I worked and now.

I'm pretty sure my DH never cooked anything--OK once on our first Valentine's Day! Also, I can't say I cook frequently since DH works late often and then we go out on the weekends, etc.

Same here, although I don't "cook" like I used to - a LOT more frozen stuff and premade stuff than it used to be.

The crockpot is great though since I can make a few meals at once and all you really do is drop a few ingredients in.

Re: Question for the SAHMs

I do...he will bring home food from work sometimes though if I don't feel like cooking.

I get so bored at night I look forward to doing something productive, I usually watch rachel ray, walk to the store for ingredients and then make what she made that day.

My meat and rice eating husband wants Rachel Ray off the airChat Icon

Re: Question for the SAHMs

I do mostly...he cooks dinner on the days he's off and grills and often will grill more than needed so that meals later in the week are easier!

Re: Question for the SAHMs

I am a P/T working mom and I cook, every night. Dh comes home at 7:30PM from work, so it is always me cooking. He takes out the trash, empties the diaper genie, walks the dog (and picks up the dog poo) and takes out the recycling. I think that is a fair trade. Chat Icon

Same here.

I also "batch cook" several meals at once.

I figure out what I'm going to cook for the week, give DH the grocery list and prepare as much as I can ahead of time.

Even before kids with a crazy work schedule, I'd cook all of the weeks meals on Sunday... something in the crock-pot, another dish in the oven with various veg and a stir fry or a dish prepped in the pan on the stove. I'd also make a large salad that would last most of the week.
