Re: Question for the SAHMs

If by cooking you mean heating up something from the frozen food case at Bj's then I guess it's me Chat Icon

I used to cook actual meals before I got PG. my morning sickness took away my desire to cook and it never came back.

This summer DH barbecued a lot which was helpful, although our old grill actually caught fire one of those times, but hey it was a night off for me Chat Icon

I do! Granted, some nights will be chicken burgers thrown on the Foreman grill, but, I do cook.

I admit, on weekends, we usually go out.

Re: Question for the SAHMs

I cook 5 nights a week, and we either go out to eat 1night or order pizza. Dh will cook only breakfast usually on Sundays and only for himself (he makes eggs and no-one else in the house eats eggs), Also SOMETIMES he BQ in the summer (more like starts it, then I finish)

Re: Question for the SAHMs

Me- I usually do it in the morning or during naptime so I just have to cook it or heat it up at dinner time. I also find it helpful to make a ton of stuff on Sunday to prepare for the week.

I'll buy a ton of ground beef, make a meat sauce for lasagna, some chili, some tacos, Some things I will freeze and others stay on the weeks menu.

Or make some chicken, then use it for enchiladas, caesar salads, etc.

Re: Question for the SAHMs

DW. She's always cooked, even before DC. She is good at it, whereas I've never had to cook. I went from mom's to college, to living with DW. I never really learned. Plus, she enjoys cooking (most of the time... Chat Icon Chat Icon )

I'll mention how good a meal is, and she'll say "Oh, it's really simple, just take some chop meat, add some rice, some spices, ......"

Re: Question for the SAHMs

I'm not sure you can call what I do cooking Chat Icon but I take care of dinner most of the time or we do take out (too often), but he does dishes and takes care of the baby at night, bath and bedtime so it's a good trade off.

I've only recently gotten into cooking (before then I never cooked and we basically did frozen foods or takeoutChat Icon) but since we're eating healthier, I have been doing all the cooking..

Re: Question for the SAHMs

DH is away most weeks Mon-Thurs, so I'm off the hook M,Tu, Wed. When it's just me, I eat either leftovers from the weekend, Lean Cuisines, cereal, or a salad. I try to make something for when he gets home Thurs. night. Weekends usually he cooks or we go out. I'm trying to cook more. I know he really appreciates it when I do. I just find it very hard to add that to taking care of DD.

Re: Question for the SAHMs

Now that I stopped working, I cook all of the time or we do take out or go out. DH will grill if we are having steak or burgers. When I was working, I cooked most of the time as well. DH will cook on weekends though, which is great.
