Re: Questions for those with recent BFPs to help us TTCers!

1. What method did you use to TTC? (temping, OPKs, etc.)

Followed mymonthlycycle.com and used OPK's

2. What was your BD schedule? (e.g., every other day until positive OPK; nothing, then every day once positive OPK, etc.)

every other day from cd 8 then every day for 3 days once positive OPK.

3. At how many dpo did you test? (including both BFNs and BFP might be helpful!)

I waited it out this month. I tested the day AF was due.

4. Anything else that might have contributed? (prenatals, barilla plus, etc.)

I started taking pre-natals, grapefruit juice and used pre-seed.

Good luck!

Re: Questions for those with recent BFPs to help us TTCers!

1. What method did you use to TTC? (temping, OPKs, etc.)

Followed mymonthlycycle.com and tracking EWCM

2. What was your BD schedule? (e.g., every other day until positive OPK; nothing, then every day once positive OPK, etc.)

I have 30 day cycles and we BD on CD 10,14,16 and 19. I think I O'd late this cycle though and I think 19 was "the one" however, I have no idea really of course LOL

3. At how many dpo did you test? (including both BFNs and BFP might be helpful!)

AF was due Friday. I tested Friday, Saturday and Sunday and got a BFN ( which is also why I think I O'd late ) and then got lightest BFP on Monday.

4. Anything else that might have contributed? (prenatals, barilla plus, etc.)

I have been taking prenatals for a long time and this was my first month drinking grapefruit juice.

Good luck!

Re: Questions for those with recent BFPs to help us TTCers!

1. What method did you use to TTC? (temping, OPKs, etc.)

We used OPK's for the beginning of the month - I stopped halfway through out of pure forgetfulness - I couldn't temp - I work overnights 3 nights a week so it wasn't condusive..

2. What was your BD schedule? (e.g., every other day until positive OPK; nothing, then every day once positive OPK, etc.)

My cycles have been ALL over the place, our first official one was 79 days (only because they RX'd provera, then 35 days, then 39 days or so) - This month we were on CD39 when the BFP came up. We literally BD EVERYday - there were days that DH just wanted to be left alone, and days that I was so tired from work, but we just got it done Chat Icon

3. At how many dpo did you test? (including both BFNs and BFP might be helpful!)

I have no idea how many DPO I was when we tested... Chat Icon

4. Anything else that might have contributed? (prenatals, barilla plus, etc.)

I was taking my PNV, ate barilla plus last month, drank 1 cup grapefruit juice daily Chat Icon, took the max dose of mucinex daily, watched EWCM, and said lots of prayers...

2. What was your BD schedule? (e.g., every other day until positive OPK; nothing, then every day once positive OPK, etc.)

Re: Questions for those with recent BFPs to help us TTCers!

1. What method did you use to TTC? (temping, OPKs, etc.)
Honestly we didn't use a particular method. I got my period nov 2th... the week of my wedding. we figured we would "try" on the HM... but not really expecting it to work or anything to happen. We just BD every day of the HM..... sometimes 3 times a day. thats what HM's are for!! haha! I figured there was a good chance of it happening but also not because it was the first time we "tried". Our HM was long... so BD everyday for the first week of the HM brought me to my O day and it happened.

2. What was your BD schedule? (e.g., every other day until positive OPK; nothing, then every day once positive OPK, etc.)
Everyday... sometimes numerous times a day.

3. At how many dpo did you test? (including both BFNs and BFP might be helpful!)
I tested when I was 5 days late. So I tested Monday Dec 7th. My O date (according to books and websites) would have been Nov 15th on a 28 day cycle.

4. Anything else that might have contributed? (prenatals, barilla plus, etc.)
None of the above.

Thanks to anyone who takes the time to do this!Chat Icon

You are welcome!! I know my case isn't the norm... but I also think that being laid back and somewhat relaxed may have contributed. But who knows.
GOOD LUCK to you guys!!!! I'm pulling for you all!!!

1. What method did you use to TTC? (temping, OPKs, etc.)

2. What was your BD schedule? (e.g., every other day until positive OPK; nothing, then every day once positive OPK, etc.)

-According to mymonthly cycles my fertile time was around Christmas. We BD 12/22, 12/24 and 12/26.

3. At how many dpo did you test? (including both BFNs and BFP might be helpful!)
- CD8-9 BFN then CD 14-15 BFP!

4. Anything else that might have contributed? (prenatals, barilla plus, etc.)
-800mcg Folic Acid
-Pillow under my butt after BD lol
-Trying not to stress
-Wanting to have sex instead of having to have sex.

Re: Questions for those with recent BFPs to help us TTCers!

1. What method did you use to TTC?

We had been using CBEFM but I had stopped because I was in the hospital for surgery.

2. What was your BD schedule?

Since I just had surgery, we had only done it once Chat Icon

3. At how many dpo did you test? (including both BFNs and BFP might be helpful!)

When AF was 3 days late. I had no idea that I might be pregnant because we had stopped "trying" for the month so I could recover from my surgery

4. Anything else that might have contributed?

Re: Questions for those with recent BFPs to help us TTCers!

1. What method did you use to TTC?

we were temping and using the CBEFM. I also used 2 Opk's to confirm the CBEFM reading

2. What was your BD schedule?

I decided that instead of doing it every other day from day 8 to whenever, we would just go with the flow. so we ended up bd'ing for 4 days straight, 2 days before o, the day of, and the day after.

3. At how many dpo did you test? (including both BFNs and BFP might be helpful!)

because i was temping, i knew i had an implantation dip on dpo9, i tested dpo12.

4. Anything else that might have contributed?
prenatals, mucinex, not stressing, not reading into every little 2ww symptom

2. What was your BD schedule? (e.g., every other day until positive OPK; nothing, then every day once positive OPK, etc.) only once on CD 13 and I think I ovulated on CD 16Chat Icon

3. At how many dpo did you test? (including both BFNs and BFP might be helpful!) I did not test until 16 DPO...I was really afraid to do so becuase I thought AF was coming. Plus, I didn't have any tests in the house until today

4. Anything else that might have contributed? (prenatals, barilla plus, etc.) I have been taking pre-natals for over a year now and this past month, completely gave up caffeine. Also, should add that my husband had low thyorid levels and recently went on synthroid..not that he ever had SA, but I think that he could have been low and the drug increased the amount.

Re: Questions for those with recent BFPs to help us TTCers!

I have stalked this thread religiously for a year now...I'm not kidding! Thank you to all who have shared their story...now I will share mine! Chat Icon

1. What method did you use to TTC? (temping, OPKs, etc.)

~I had been trying for a year and used OPKs for about 9 of those months...including this one. I also added the temping into the mix for the first time this month. Of course, the temping didn't facilitate anything, but I did think it was really cool and actually lessened my obsessing during the 2WW.

2. What was your BD schedule? (e.g., every other day until positive OPK; nothing, then every day once positive OPK, etc.)

~We BD 1 and 3 days BEFORE ovulation. That's it (well, maybe a couple of times before that, but definitely not during O or afterwards.).

3. At how many dpo did you test? (including both BFNs and BFP might be helpful!)

~Oh jeez...usually I would start testing at 9dpo (or maybe even 8dpo Chat Icon), but I waited until 10dpo this month. Used an EPT and got the BFP instantly. Oh, and double-checked with a digital this morning--11dpo.

4. Anything else that might have contributed? (prenatals, barilla plus, etc.)

~I took my prenatals every day without fail this month--something I didn't do in the past. I think I also did the Robitussin thing around O time. And randomly I ate Barilla Plus right around then as well. Chat Icon

Re: Questions for those with recent BFPs to help us TTCers!

1. What method did you use to TTC? (temping, OPKs, etc.)

I used OPKs...didn't really get into the temping thing. I also started seeing an RE after the 7th month. I just didn't feel right about things.

2. What was your BD schedule? (e.g., every other day until positive OPK; nothing, then every day once positive OPK, etc.)

At first, we just BD whenever we wanted, maybe for the first 2 months. Then we started the every other day before the positive OPK, then 3 days after OPK, then every other day (kinda got tiring!)

3. At how many dpo did you test? (including both BFNs and BFP might be helpful!)

Some months I tested about 3 or 4 days before AF was due. This month, I tested 2 days before and got my BFP!

4. Anything else that might have contributed? (prenatals, barilla plus, etc.)

I've been taking prenatals on and off since June when we first started ttc. Since January of 2010, I stated taking them regularly because I started working with Dr. Kenigsberg from LI IVF and hoped it would end up eventually in a BFP!

*******I truly, truly believe the HSG test that I had done by Dr. Kenigsberg (end of January) was a major help in resulting in the BFP. *******

1. What method did you use to TTC? (temping, OPKs, etc.)

It was my first month using the CBEFM, so I used OPKs also and got + on both on days 16 & 17

2. What was your BD schedule? (e.g., every other day until positive OPK; nothing, then every day once positive OPK, etc.)

Every other day until high on CBEFM, then four days straight, skipped a day and BD one last day

3. At how many dpo did you test? (including both BFNs and BFP might be helpful!)

Got a positive at 12DPO, one day before AF was due

4. Anything else that might have contributed? (prenatals, barilla plus, etc.)

Prenatals, Evening Primrose Oil before O (helped a lot with CM), Robitussen, Baby Carrots, Barilla Pasta, Grapefruit Juice, Green Tea, and baby aspirin - Tried pretty much everything that month!

Re: Questions for those with recent BFPs to help us TTCers!

1. What method did you use to TTC? (temping, OPKs, etc.)

We didn't use any - we weren't trying this cycle and actually only BD'ed once! Turns out it was on the right day.

2. What was your BD schedule? (e.g., every other day until positive OPK; nothing, then every day once positive OPK, etc.)

Once on CD18 (or what i thought was CD 18 bc AF didn't really show the month before - just some spotting)

3. At how many dpo did you test? (including both BFNs and BFP might be helpful!)

I think it was about 16 DPO - I really am just guessing

4. Anything else that might have contributed? (prenatals, barilla plus, etc.)

I have been taking prenatals for 2 months, I always eat barilla plus because I love it.. other than that nothing.

Re: Questions for those with recent BFPs to help us TTCers!

1. What method did you use to TTC? (temping, OPKs, etc.)

Monitored CM and tracked my days. No OPKs or temping.

2. What was your BD schedule? (e.g., every other day until positive OPK; nothing, then every day once positive OPK, etc.)

I think from CD 9 till about CD 16. We did it every night. No skipping. I really think that's what did it.

3. At how many dpo did you test? (including both BFNs and BFP might be helpful!)

about 10DPO I was feeling like crap. My legs were aching so bad. For the heck of it, I took a cheap test and got the faintest line. I tested 11DPO another faint line. At 12DPO I bumped it up a notch and got a digital. Sure enough, pregnant.

4. Anything else that might have contributed? (prenatals, barilla plus, etc.)

i was taking over the counter prenatals. One thing I will say, I tried NOT to think about it during the 2ww. As soon as O week was over I basically had the attitude like it is what it is. I decided if I got a BFN this month I'd book a trip for me and DH to Vegas. And then we got the BFP!!!
Good luck to all you ladies. I wish you all the best!!!!!!

Re: Questions for those with recent BFPs to help us TTCers!

1. What method did you use to TTC? (temping, OPKs, etc.)

temping/charting on Fertility Friend, digital OPKs, observed CM and CP.

2. What was your BD schedule?

Every other day until CD8 or so, then every day from CD8-CD14. (I usually O on CD 13).

3. At how many dpo did you test? (including both BFNs and BFP might be helpful!)

Not sure. I'm not 100% sure when I O'd b/c my chart looked a little wacky. I just waited until AF was due. My temp usually drops the day before TBAF arrives, but the morning I tested, my temp it was WAY up. According to my chart, I tested somewhere between 13-17dpo. Got a DARK bfp on April 1.

4. Anything else that might have contributed? (prenatals, barilla plus, etc.)

Limited my caffeine intake, drank lots of water, had a cup of green tea and a cup of grapefruit juice each morning before O. I took pre-natals, but I'm not sure if they helped.

Good luck, girls!!!

2. What was your BD schedule?

We didnt have one! We only baby danced the first day during my fertile period because I had EWCM and thought "hey lets do it and see what happens"

3. At how many dpo did you test? (including both BFNs and BFP might be helpful!)

12 DPO...first on a dollar tree test and got a very faint line, then on an FRER and got a definite line, then on a digital that said pregnant. Before testing i wasn't having many symptoms. The only wierd thing was I was having wierd twinges in my left breast during the 2ww.

4. Anything else that might have contributed? (prenatals, barilla plus, etc.)

I was taking a regular multi vitamin and used preseed the night we conceived.

Good luck, girls!!!

Re: Questions for those with recent BFPs to help us TTCers!

I'm bumping this for all the new TTCers-this thread I had saved in my notebook when we started TTC and I found it tremendously helpful and inspiring! I hope it helps you too!

A couple questions that might help those of us who are still TTC!

1. What method did you use to TTC? (temping, OPKs, etc.)

I used OPK's, but because I drink so much water and pee all day long, I never got an accurate reading because I was so diluted-LOL! The only day I got somewhat of a visible line to match up to the other line was on CD20, but it still wasn't what it needed to be to show a surge. While OPK's are helpful to some, many have agreed with me that they are far from error proof. Had I only relied on OPK's I wouldn't have gotten pregnant. We had a rigorous BD schedule and that's what did it-

2. What was your BD schedule? (e.g., every other day until positive OPK; nothing, then every day once positive OPK, etc.)

I had perfect 27 day cycles....Get ready for it-we BD on cycle days 7,10,11,13,14,15,16,17,20,21. I took the OPK's into consideration but never went solely by them. We just decided to have fun with it and do it A LOT. It was definitely exhausting, but we made it fun and never felt pressured.

3. At how many dpo did you test? (including both BFNs and BFP might be helpful!)

I held out and tested the day AF was due and got a BFN. I had none of the classic pregnancy symptoms besides feeling a cramping feeling similar to O-pain. 3 days later, AF still hadn't showed, I tested that night and got a BFP. I was SHOCKED! All that BD'ing really worked!

4. Anything else that might have contributed? (prenatals, barilla plus, etc.)

Within a 3 or 4 day span, no joke-10-12 women I know who are either pregnant or have kids ALL SAID to prop your butt on pillows and put your legs in the air after Chat Icon They all said that's what did it for them. I was pretty diligent and followed the advice all the times we BD. I also was taking prenatals from even before we started TTC. Lastly-way before DH and I started TTC, we got full physical check ups/bloodwork done from our PCP's, full dental exams, and I got a full OB/GYN exam. We both follow really healthy lifestyles (don't smoke, drink very moderately, and eat a healthy diet and exercise). It gives me peace of mind that we knew "everything was in working order" before getting pregnant. It makes it a lot less stressful going for all the pregnancy checkups.

I wish all of you the best of luck and can't wait for you to get your BFP's!
