Rock N Play/Swing/Bouncer Question
I registered for the FP Deluxe Rock N Play and the FP Cradle N Swing...should I also register for the bouncer too or am I good with just the other two?
TIA!

Re: Rock N Play/Swing/Bouncer Question
i found having a bouncer useful as well but more for after she was too big for the swing she liked chilling in the bouncer and it was a secure spot to put her when I needed to shower and was easy to put either in the bathroom or right outside the bathroom door.

Re: Rock N Play/Swing/Bouncer Question
That's a tough one. I don't think you NEED it. We used ours quite a bit the first 2 months, but were pretty much done with it by 3 months. We also didn't have a swing. She hung out in the RnP a lot- I think she preferred being a bit higher up and more at our level once she became aware of her surroundings.

Re: Rock N Play/Swing/Bouncer Question
we registered for the rock n play, bouncer and swing... we only use the rNp and bouncer. since DS never really "needed" the swing, so we ended up returning it. plus it was the item that took up the most space. so yes, I would recommend the bouncer, but I know some people swear by the swing as well so part of it is trial and error with your DC to see what they like.

Re: Rock N Play/Swing/Bouncer Question
I have all 3. I didn't have the RNP at first, but since I got the it, DS really hasn't been in the bouncer at all. That may change a bit as he gets bigger though, he is only 9 weeks right now. The RNP and swing are our go-to pieces for now.

Re: Rock N Play/Swing/Bouncer Question
My DS is still iffy with the bouncer...he sits in it but not for long. I could probably live without it, but I love having options

Me too. Get the FP infant to toddler rocker in Lew of a traditional bouncer. It's much more versatile.

For us though, the opposite was true. DD was big, strong, and ACTIVE at a very young age. She would thrash around in the bouncer, bouncing up and down, and would try to do crunches in it, leaning all the way forward. I was honestly afraid to leave her in it past 3 months. I felt she was much safer in the RnP, bc if how deep it is. I'd def look into the infant to toddler rocker if I were to do it again.

Re: Rock N Play/Swing/Bouncer Question
You don't NEED it, but dd associated the rnp with sleep, and the bouncer was more for play.
Note: I had gotten a deluxe rnp, and dd was tiny when born (6-12). I didn't like that the "ears" of the animal seemed to be in her face when she slumpd down and turned her head. I showed a picture to my doctor, who was immediately concerned and told me to buy the regular rnp, not one with any sort of ears or extra fabric. Huge difference.

Re: Rock N Play/Swing/Bouncer Question
I recommend a bouncer seat that is fun like the rainforest. It has lights, music, bubbles and keeps them entertained. I'm not familiar with the RNP one.

Re: Rock N Play/Swing/Bouncer Question
I have all 3 and rotate between them. I don't think you NEED the swing over the bouncer or vice versa. I would recommend the rnp though as its been a lifesaver with DD's reflux.

Re: Rock N Play/Swing/Bouncer Question
We used all 3, alot!
I was skeptical about the swing, but DS LOVED it. He loved it too much! At 5 months we had to stop letting him nap in it cause it was the only place he would nap in the house, bu 5 months it was completely taken away! I hated how big it was, but whatever works, I was willing to sacrifice that small space in the living room for him!
The RNP was all he slept in until he went in the crib and then still if he woke in the middle of the night while he transitioned and also in the mornings while we got ready for work. We stopped using it by 5 months.
Bouncer was more of a play time thing for us when he was awake, if you don't get one with a lot of toys, don't bother. we had the snug a bunny one, totally boring! we got the monkey one that had lots of fun stuff and DS loved it, eventually used that in the mornings when I got ready, but also during the day We used this until atleast 6.

Re: Rock N Play/Swing/Bouncer Question
So I looked at the Infant to Toddler Rain Forest bouncer and the Rain Forest Friends Deluxe bouncer. The Infant to Toddler one doesn't seem all that fun--just has the little plastic animals hanging that the baby can swat at...the Deluxe bouncer has all the lights and music, but it is not an Infant to Toddler one, so it only goes up to 25 lbs.
I wish the I-to-T one had more to it b/c yeah it will hold a bigger baby/toddler and therefore last longer but won't a toddler want more than just toys to swat at?

I have the deluxe rainforest bouncer. Dd loves it but I know it's days are numbered. She's getting to big for it, but she is also rolling and moving all over the place. IMO she wouldn't sit in a bouncer for much longer anyway.

Rock N Play/Swing/Bouncer Question
I would definitely get a bouncer that is FUN. My snug a bunny is SO BORING for DS. He likes to sit in it and sometimes we use the vibrate feature to soothe him....but that is all. I need to bounce him or play with a toy with him for entertainment. My mom has the Rainforest one with the toys and water and HE LOVES IT. Can keep himself occupied and play. If I have another baby I will be tossing the snugabunny. It also helps that all the new RNP's have the vibrate feature built in!
