Scheduled C-section mom's?

My OB's office will be calling this week to schedule my C-section but I have a few questions since I didn't have a scheduled one the last time.

At what week did they schedule yours?
Did you go into labor on your own or did you make it to that date?

mine was scheduled for 39w,2d

I did not go into labor ahead of time but if I had, they would have just done the c then (obviously)

Mine was scheduled at 39 weeks 1 day. I made it to that date.

Mine was scheduled ON my due date. (I was hoping to try the VBAC; otherwise, it probably would have been earlier.)

I made it to the date, but was contracting a lot on the monitor in the triage room.

I think this time it will be scheduled for 39 weeks. My due date is Halloween, but my doctor said I'd be "home in time for trick or treating." Whether or not I'll actually go is a different story.

I think in many cases they don't schedule you until 39 weeks. With DD#1 I went into labor at 38w 3 days - so my OB thought that since DD#2 might be a bit bigger that he didn't want me in labor if we could avoid it so I was scheduled for I think 38w 6 days (he only scheduled csections for 1 specific day during the week - and if I waited it would be too close to my due date).

Needless to say DD#2 had other plans and I ended up delivering her via csection at exactly 37 weeks.

It was sked for 39 wks 4 days. I made it to that day.

I wanted mine scheduled as close to my due date so I was due on 3/7 (Sun) and scheduled it for 3/5 (Fri).

I did not go into labor.

My dr would schedule no more than a week out. My old OB would schedule up to 2 weeks out.

Mine was scheduled for 38w6d.

I had him at 37 weeks due to complications. I did not go into labor on my own.

Mine was scheduled at my 39 wk appt (due to large estimated weight of the baby). It was scheduled for my due date and had zero contractions/labor signs (aside from minor possible mucas plug loss 2 days before the c/s- went to L&D and was sent home w/ a "See you Tuesday")

mine was scheduled at 38 weeks.. (Twins)
but i went at 36 on my own.. basically i was having problems wiht the pregnancy so they did the c section at that time.

My DD was scheduled one week before my due dateof 1/13 for 1/6....I was to report to the hospital at 6:30am

At 7pm the night before I ended up having contractions and going into labor...Water broke in the parking lot at the hospital and she was born at via c-section 5:56am on the same day my c-section was scheduled for


For my DS, he was due 10/21 and at my OB appt on 10/11 they told me they were giving me a c-section due to his size and i went in the following day 10/12

My dr. said that the hospital does not allow you to schedule earlier than 39 weeks unless there is a medical necessity to deliver the baby earlier.

My DS was scheduled for exactly 39 weeks. I did not go into labor.

My DD is scheduled for 39 wks 4 days.

My office normally schedules for 39w exactly (anything earlier requires an amnio per the hospital).

I was not allowed to go beyond 38w b/c I had an extremely high risk of uterine rupture if I went into labor on my own (had a classical section first time around).

I was scheduled for 39w - DD came a week early at 38w when my water broke.

DD #1 was also early with my water breaking that time too at 37w3d.

Mine was scheduled at 39 weeks, but at 38 weeks my water broke so they did it then.

For my DS I am scheduled for a C-sect on Sept 1st this is 38wks and 6 days..they wanted to do an amnio if sooner but my doc will come in to do the Csect personally for me and since it is almost 39wks no amnio they said amnio to test babies lungs are fully matured.
With my first child, DD I had Csect at 39 weeks and 5 days.

They wouldn't schedule it before 39 weeks. I went as planned.

Mine was like 39 weeks 4 days or something like that.

36 weeks and it was for medical necessity. I had to have an amnio the day before to confirm lung maturity. This can be a difficult question to answer because everyone who has a C-section has a specific reason that is related to when it is scheduled. My doctor certainly does not schedule them all at 36 weeks. My friend whose medical issues are similar to mine went just before 37 weeks with the same OB practice that I use. She also had an amnio.

I had c-sections with both DC. With DS I was always 9 days late so when I went into labor they estimated him to be very big and he was very high so we went with a c-section. With DD my dr scheduled me when I was 39 weeks and I made it to then.

Scheduled it at about 20 weeks for 38 weeks w days and yes I made it ( to everyone's surprise to my scheduled date). I carried twins and no one thought i would make it as long as I did.
