shaving question TMI

So..... this is kind of an embarrassing topic but how do you maintain the hair in your pubic area? I've never done anything with it until about 10 years ago - and that was really just to trim it so it's not so long. But the bikini area was still "natural" since I'm overweight and never wear a bathing suit (and was married for a LONG time).

My new boyfriend mentioned that I'm the only one he's been with (other than his ex wife) that has any hair at all, and I found that surprising since we're all in our 40s and I didn't think completely bare was a thing for our age. I asked my friend and she said she shaves it all.

I've never shaved there and was SUPER nervous about getting a razor down there so the top part is mostly fine, but I just couldn't bring myself to razor too much around the sensitive parts so I clipped it back with scissors.

Anyway, I basically had 5 O'clock shadow after a few hours and it's the worst! The stubble is rubbing against my underwear, and the growing in ones 2 days later is super itchy! I'm sure there are tips about lotions and other stuff, but the stubble is driving me crazy. Plus, I don't know if I like the look of it. :D

What do you do down there?

I say do you -- if you want it natural keep it that way. If it bothers you, just get waxed. Let someone else do the work!

This! Waxing is a lot less irritating for the skin than shaving. European Wax Center is great. But just do what you’re comfortable with.

I have a landing strip that is trimmed. I used to shave, but I didn’t want to feel like a 12 year old anymore. My SO was happy and surprised when he learned that I had some hair there because he hates them shaved.

I wax.

Getting rid of everything is out of “style” these days from what I understand. Like the permanent French manicure of the hoo-ha.

At least some hair I guess Chat Icon

Many years ago I used to go to a waxing place in the city and they ran a promotion to have shapes stenciled. There was a woman telling the girl at the front desk (for all the world to hear) that she wanted the lightning bolt because her bf loved Harry Potter.

I still have no words.

Re: shaving question TMI

my DH is not a fan of bare- he says it reminds him of a pre- pubescent girl and it skeeves him out badly.
I also don't like being bare- I don't find it attractive to be honest.

I will shave the sides down and just trim/buzz on a higher setting the rest.

Just keeping it neat but like I still have been through puberty.

shaving question TMI

i buzz it with a pair of clippers.
i'm too old to be shaving it all off and i'm too cheap to pay someone to wax it.
if you don't like it, you don't have to go anywhere near it.

just like my legs. there are times i don't shave them. if you b!tch about it, you don't get to spend time between them Chat Icon

Full Brazilian! Hate hair there. Been doing it for 20 years. From what I know that's what most of the women I know do.

I don't want to feel like an 8 year old with no hair, so I have hair there! If I was to wax all that off, it would grow back in an hour anyway since my hair grows super fast! I shave the bikini line and trim the bush with a buzzer thing made for that area LOL

Peeing my pants reading the other thread Chat Icon I know I've read it in the past, but it's still freaking hilarious Chat Icon Chat Icon

Lol I get a legit 5 o clock shadow on my legs, no exaggeration, so I feel you.
I once waxed my legs and it lasted less than a week.
I am so damn hairy everywhere except where I want thick fast growing hair...my head!

You can just get a bikini wax and not a full on wax of everything off. Just do what you think you would prefer. There are obviously salons out there with choices as far as that goes.

Full Brazilian here, as well. I’m overdue and it’s making me nuts right now. But do what works for you. Go to a wax place and have them clean it up

That's why I'm glad DH hates the Brazilian look.
I am not one for voluntarily pain.
I don't even have my ears pierced. No voluntary pain for me- ever!
LOL
