Am I the only wimp who has no desire to have the hair on the most sensitive, thin skinned part of my body ripped out at the root by wax?

Um.... no! The idea of ripping hairs from down there makes me squeamish. That's why I thought the razor would be a better option - until I was faced with a sharp object near my labia!

As long as you are careful, it will be fine. I shave down there all the time and have never had a mishap.
Go slow, use some good shaving gel or lotion and use a mirror if you have to.

I think the biggest question here is who are these men who are dictating what we do with our hoo-has? They should be happy to be invited to that area!

And get some "bikini zone" lotion for after the fact.

Re: shaving question TMI

If you want to, get it waxed. Depending on how thick your hair is and how it grows, shaving can be the devil. I don’t even shave my underarms anymore and I wish I was taught differently when I was younger.

I only shave my legs.

Not to mention the ingrown hairs that I know I would potentially get! Chat Icon

It's not really painful at all, and I don't do it for my partner, I do it for me. Even when Im not with somebody, I'm always waxed. It's what I prefer.

Um.... yup, he shaves his balls. LOL

And for clarification, he didn't ask me to - just mentioned it. He doesn't care if I do or don't. I just wanted to try it since I'd never done it before.

I'm pretty sure I'm going to let most of it grow back and just clip it back b/c I don't like the bare look.

Where do you go for laser? I’m thinking of getting it for my mustache but don’t want to go just anywhere ! Also considering underarms as well

I don’t see nothing wrong with catering to your partners preference. There are some females who don’t prefer men to be hairy for various reasons. Different things turn people on or off, why not try to make each other happy.

Lol I was thinking the same thing . There are a lot of men who shave everything. Especially in Long Island, this is where I actually saw men getting their eyebrows waxed, threaded and other parts. I never heard of it before I went to school and worked on Long Island. None of the men I grew up with did any of that Chat Icon

I shave it all. Dh doesnt care either way but I just find it to be cleaner. Personally I dont sit there and stare at my vag, so I dont really care what it looks like and I have never felt like I was a 12 year old because of it.

LOL - I could have in my 20s!

I have a shaver - the kind without razor blades. I'll see if I can figure out how to use it so that it's super short but not completely bare.

I agree with you - within reason - if the OP really doesn't want to do, she shouldn't be made to feel like she should have to

But your general sentiment, I don't disagree with.

Yea ofocurse do whatever makes you feel you comfortable. It really was the previous quoted I was commenting on.

I feel like majority of men will have a preference but deal with whatever. TMI but men will push that hair aside to get to their target goal. Where I feel like woman are more likely to say something, such as minimal hair and set her requirements. Lol.

This is just from personal experience and conversations from close fam/friends. I didn’t start waxing till I was 32 and I regret waiting so long. This was a rec from my friend and I went along with her. It was a total surprise to my DH.

I both shave and wax. I also buy this trimmer pink and white thing from cvs its like 8$. you know like the one the Barbers use but the smaller version. Like others said use a mirror if you have to and go slow. I hate hair down there.
My SO shaves too - yep his balls and everything. I asked him to stop shaving his chest and he stopped. for some reason I love his hairy chest.

Re: shaving question TMI

I use to Brazilian wax every month but I've gotten lazy so now Ill do it in the summer only. In between I use clippers and trim it down really close. No itchiness like shaving. But for those that say it hurts, I have to say that getting my upper lip waxed hurts 100x more than getting a Brazilian. Our face and especially upper lip is more sensitive and the skin is thinner so it's really not as painful down there, especially if you go to a good place. I've been going to European Wax Center for 8 years

I have been going to get laser now for over 15 years and its not 100% permanent...The face tends to be the worst since its super hormonal...right now I go to a place in Astoria near my work but def check out groupon and you can find good places on LI but make sure you do not do IPL which is just light and a super waste of money. Ask what type of laser they use before you purchase. I have done my legs, face, brazilian and underarms but with having babies I have had some regrowth...I dont look like chewy anymore but I do have to shave my legs every couple of weeks if I plan on showing my legs.

Currently doing my face again and finishing up my underarms.
