Sleeping positions
I read that you aren't supposed to sleep on your back past the first trimester. Anyone else finding this really hard to follow ? I start out on my side but my back aches really badly and I have to rotate to my back and I get really nervous . What does everyone else do ?

I think it's after 20 weeks that you should try to stay off your back while sleeping. I think I remember that if you're sleeping a bit elevated, it's ok. If you roll onto your back and you happen to wake up, just roll to the side. I used to end up on my back but tilted to one side.

Having a pregnancy pillow helps keep you on your side more. But I still wake up on my back. When I do I just roll over. They say your body will tell you or wake you up if you or your baby is in danger. So don't freak out if you keep ending up on your back. Just avoid your stomach, but it gets harder to do that anyhow.
I also use a wedge pillow, so when I am on my back my oxygen supply is better then when I didn't have the wedge.

Re: Sleeping positions
I switch all night or I'd get stiff. Just not stomach towards the end for obvious reasons.

Re: Sleeping positions
Its supposed to be starting with your 20th week. But when I went for my 16 week checkup, the doctor said to try to start getting used to sleeping on my side only. So far so good. I do find that if I am on my back, I'm sort of propped up against DH I wouldn't worry as a PP said, your body knows if you or your baby were in danger and need to change positions

I start out on my side and end up on my belly when I wake up. Not on purpose of course , but I'm normally a tummy sleeper.

Pregnancy pillows help and are a god send once you enter the third trimester when it becomes impossible to get comfy.

My pregnancy pillow keeps me from rolling over on my back. Turning over on the other hand without being in pain, not so much lol
