spinoff - does anyone NOT tip Garbage men
or mail men? It never occured to me to tip them, and I probably never will. Just out of curiousity

We don't tip ours, but they don't ever get out of the truck so I have never even seen them. The truck has an arm that grabs the can and dumps it in the back.
We also don't tip the mailman because he told us it is illegal for him to accept gifts.

In the 4 years in my house, we never have..
Even when I lived with my parents, I know they never tipped them

i don't. we had major problems with garbage pickup this year where i had to call the town several times. add that to me having to walk all the way down the block several times to get my can.
i did tip the mailwoman however.

my sister doesn't b/c they don't go above and beyond, but b/c of them is why we tip ours, since take anything and everything for us.

ETA: I've never met any of them and I don't think the garbage men do a good job anyway.
I'd rather save my tips for people I know like our hairdressers.

Nope, don't tip, either.
We do tip the newspaper man as he puts our paper where we ask for it to be delivered. It's always there and always DRY.

Nope, our garbage men never come when scheduled. They are supposed to come on Fridays but often come on Thursdays or not at all.
Our mail person, will leave the "sorry we missed you" slip for a package without even attempting to deliver the package. I've been home and when I would open the door, only to find they never even brought the package with them bc they didn't want to lug it around.

I have tipped the mailman but never the garbage men. Don't think I ever will
tip them.
Our pails are always thrown, caps missing, and they even lost the cover to my Newspaper bin.

We tip our mail lady, only because in our neighborhood the mailboxes are on the houses not the streets and they still walk with the mail bag up and down every street. We dont tip the garbage man though

No we don't tip them but on a couple of occasions we had a big trash day and tipped them. Since we tipped them, they sent the town once when we trashed branches too big, etc.... We don't have a lot of trash and it was 2 special occasions and we thought we wanted to compensate them. But after the branch incident we don't tip them for anything. They don't get bigger trash day but they also don't get the extra $20.

They are here at the crack azz of dawn and wake my DD up because they go in reverse down my street with a loud beep. No tip for them!
