Do you think you can tell the difference between the real thing and fake?
Call me PROMISCUOUS but I can honestly tell you  that it depends on the make!
I can guess at some by stitching and how the patterns run correctly across the bag - and the quality of leather or the inside material (fake suede).
I can tell an authentic Marc Jacobs from a fake one right away! Sometimes I go on ebay and play name that fake w/ this make - there are certain things to look for. Other brands I would have trouble with.

i don't know a lot of the designers now. i was on the street the other day and spotted a bag i liked. I asked how much ($40) and then the guy said, you'd pay $1400 at _________(don't remember what it was.) I didn't even know it was supposed to be a copy. Oops.

I happen to agree w/you. I was on line yesterday at Target and this woman in front of me had a fake coach - the C's were G's  the thought I had was "why??! just WHY"?
She probably had a Guess bag. All companies are doing that with their letters. Even NY&Co has bags with NYC on them.

There is a company called Simply G's. I have seen it on the home shopping channel.

If there's one thing I've learned it's "If it's too good to be true, then it is." (The only exception to that rule for me was my husband. )

I think she was saying that she just liked the style of the bag and had no idea that it was supposed to be a designer replica.

No, I didn't really think it was a $1400 bag. I just didn't know it was SUPPOSED to be a knockoff of a $1400 bag.

no, it wasn't a guess bag. it was a brown one in this exact style
