Pill- Where is teh MAN'S responsibiltiy for birth control!! Please answer me!! Men can buy condoms too.
What is the women responsiblity on this whole sex process if women like to blame men?
But that is the whole point of the original post - women ARE trying to take responsibility and some pharmacist is telling them they can't get the med. they need to do so.

Both the man and the woman have to be responsible for their own actions.. Condoms can break, HIV tests can come back wrong as well.. Everytime you CHOOSE to have sex with anyone your always taking a risk. Thats your choice to take that risk. No one else can be blamed for whatever happens afterwards.

Can we get back to the argument about the Pill
PMaybe you guys can start a second thread to argue condoms break v. get yourself tested
WORD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I don't thinkWalmart should be sued. I agree... and I think that it's disgusting how a lot of people look for holes in the law to gain a dollar.
I don't think this lawsuit is about money, I think it is about principle IMO, if it's of principle, then sue for the issue... and not to gain financially. (Note, I have not read the article so I could be talking out of my a$$! )

Problem is.. what about the millions of girls that now think they can have unprotected sex because they can take the pill in the morning. That to me is the scary part.
I just think this is so much rarer than people who use it for an emergency. Under that logic, lets stop selling Nyquil or White Out or Robuitussin or alcohol or cigarettes because people abuse those too.

If I get raped on the way home... the first thing I will do is get tested. I REFUSE to put my wife's life on the line because I am too weak to do the right thing.
Right cause if Bubba laid one to you, the first thing you are going to be concerned about is is infecting your wife ... it'll probably be a long time before you'd be comfortable enough to be with your wife again and you'd probably be more worried about your manhood, your safety, catching the guy, and so on and so on and so on, etc, etc ... most rape victims cannot even be intimate for a very long time after the affects of rape.

I dont understand something. This pill is not hte abortion pill, its the morning after pill...which works similiar to birth control. Why is it that walmart has no problem dispensing the latter? Also, just for the record, walmart DOES INDEED fill prescriptions for Viagra.

There is a difference. I agree that the pharmacist that refuses to dispense medication that is IN STOCK should have their licence revoked.
WalMart made a corporate decision not to stock this medication in ANY of their stores. They don't carry the medication. If you need this medication... get it somewhere else.
If there is no pharmacy by you... go to the hospital. Your taxes pay to have somebody pick you up and drop you off if its that bad.

I thought they were suing for a very small amount and lawyer fees? (I could've read that wrong, though). Not really sure.

Re: The Morning After Pill
Pill- EVERY WOMAN I KNOW WHO WAS RAPED got tested for diseases!! Every one!! Not for the safety of someone else- but for their OWN SAFETY.
Not one of them EVER went to the hospital!. NOT ONE!!
So chances are, a woman who gets raped, will get herself checked out. It dosen't mean she will go to the hospital to get the morning after pill.
Which was your original point I believe. That a woman who gets raped should go to the hospital right away to get the morning after pill.

My guess is that many people do believe the morning after pill to be abortion - the egg may have been inseminated, but has not yet had a chance to implant.

The lawsuit isnt about money...the women are asking for $25 which i assume is the price of the drug and lawyer fees. So it appears it is an issue or principle not money.

Do they sell birth control pills?
All the morning after pill does is stop the sperm from meeting the egg and attaching blah blah blah...
It will not "kill" anything that is there.

I have to say I have a similar experience. Unfortunately, I know several women who have been raped and not 1 went to the hospital... BUT none of them were intimate for a long time and ALL of them had full STD/HIV tests.

Not if you took the pill as soon as your accident happened. It takes a man's sperm 4 hours to capitulate (I think I butchered the spelling of that) Sperm can not inseminate the egg until that capitulation happens.

This isn't about money. These people are asking the court to compel Walmart to stock the morning after pill, not to award them $.

Actually to be specific... i would have to wait a MINIMUM of six months before I even THOUGHT about being intimate with my wife again.
An positive HIV result usually doesn't occur until 6 months after the initial infection. I would have to get tested again six months later to be certain.
