Re: Weight Watchers Thread

I just wanted to share somehting w/ u guys. It has been a year since I developed gastritis and i lost 27 pounds in the year. now it sucked that i was sick and still get relapses (really sucks) but I was never able to lose weight until i literally had no choice b/c I couldnt eat much.
The one thing I learned was not to DRINK your calories. even diet drinks make it harder to lose weight, just stick w/ water and herbal t (herbal ice t is good too). i cut out all fried stuff, def no fast food, and barely any meat. no pizza or whole dairy products. and i swam alot. Honestly, u hear swimming is the best exercise, well it really is. find an indoor pool somewhere. I go to the Y.
Now that I feel better, i started up WW again just so i dont push it and gain the weight back but i can never imagine eating fast food or fried food or fattening stuff again, just because i feel so much more energentic and much healthier. Keep up the good work!!

This is great advice. I think this is why one of my co-workers is having so much trouble with WWers.

I mainly drink water throughout the day.

My mom told me she saw on a TV show that if you add 1 diet coke to your diet but keep everything else the same, at the end of year, you can gain 5lbs.

Re: Weight Watchers Thread

OK I have been so bad.

I joined WW the Monday before Labor Day. So the next Monday there was no meeting. And then the following Monday I didn't go to work (or all week) and I don't have my weigh in card. Add the holidays that I cooked for, and I have been totally out of my routine. I also haven't been writing down my points because I have been home and on a totally different schedule.

I need to get back on track. I am one of those people who needs the meetings to stay on track. Maybe I will try to go this weekend. If not, Monday I will go again (assuming work isn't too crazy).

I also think that maybe the Core plan is better for me- so I don't have to wrry about writing downthe points.

wow------ great statisctic. shows that carbonation and diet ingredients all add up to weight gain.

also, eating whole food and organic foods (non-processed stuff) helps u lose weight quicker than food w/ preservatives. Not sure of any scientific data but u sure have more energy and move around more then w/ chemicals in your body.

Re: Weight Watchers Thread

So I FINALLY went back to WW. I joined on a Monday. The following week was labor day and my meeting was cancelled. I couldn't make another one that week because I was working otu of my office (I go near work). Then I took the following week off and was swamped at home. I had so much to catch up on, I couldn't make it to the meeting yesterday.

SO today I drag my azzz to the meeting. And I am so glad I did!! I lost 4.2 lbs Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon It really motivated me to get back to tracking my points. This last week with the holiday and being home, I have been doing it in my head, which isn't as effective.

So I feel good about this! Very motivated again!

I re joined last night. I stopped going in January and have gained 4 pounds since then which at first I thought-hey not bad but considering thats about 8 pounds in a yr-not so much.

I also at one of the 0 point soups. Barley vegetable and it was really good!
