What age did you switch to convertible car seat

DS is 5 1/2 months, 25 inches and weighs 15lbs and I can't imagine carrying that seat around much longer. I do like that I can use the car seat cover to keep him warm but I'm a weakling lol.

Laila is 25 1/2 inches and 16 lbs and I feel the same way! Im probably going to switch end of March/beginning of April. I like that I have the JJ Cole Car Seat cover during winter. It's just easier in winter with bundling her. So that is my goal. It is HEAVY, but so convenient for now.

We switched Brynn at almost 6 months because she was getting too tight in the car seat and she looked uncomfortable.

We switched DS early (around 6 months) b/c he hated that thing! It was also very heavy to carry upstairs.

I stopped carrying the carseats around 7 months. We would leave them in the car and then carry the babies in. I liked having the option to take the carseat out of the car if they were sleeping. I switched to the convertible at around 10 months.

9.5 months, just did it this past weekend. I can't believe I lasted THAT long! DD is 21lbs, 30.5 inches

DS is still in the infant seat at 8 months. He's about 20 lbs and 27.5 inches. I haven't been carrying it since he was about 5 months, except for occasionally when he falls asleep in it. In the cold weather I really like the convenience of it and the snap-n-go. I'm hoping he'll make it to the end of March in it.

my son was 26 inches, 16lbs 7 oz at his 6 month visit...He'll be 7 mos in 2 days. If it wasn't so darn cold I would have switched by now. waiting for the weather to be a little less wacky and less cold. hopefully my marchish sometime...if I can hold out that long.

DD was 3.5 months old, every time she saw the infant seat she would scream bloody murder, with DS he was about 5.5-6 months old...

i know plant of ppl who never even used an infant seat.

We switched our son at 18 months. He was very content in the infant seat but had just reached the height limit, although he was nowhere near the weight limit. We stopped carrying the seat months before that. We just left it in the car, except for a few times if he was sleeping or something. It was nice to have the option.

Both boys came out at 7 months. Both were extremely close to the weight limit & too long.

Around 10 or 11 months. But I stopped using the infant carseat as a 'carrier' around 7 or 8 months. It was too heavy at that point. I would just keep it in the car.

5 months. I wish we could have pushed it longer but he would just scream the whole time in the car when he was in it. It was winter too, so it was even worse that we had to carry him in and out of the house and car but I guess worth my sanity while driving.

DD hit the height limit at around 10 months old and that's when we switched her.
She didn't hit the weight limit until much later though.

We switched DD around 7 months. She was getting too heavy for me to carry. DS will be 10 months on Friday and he is still in the infant carrier.He is approaching the weight limit so we will be switching him soon.

Around 5 1/2 months. I have a bad back and couldn't carry the seat anymore. We changed to the convertible in DHs car and leave the infant carrier in mine like a convertible. I carry DD in and out of it when I'm alone with her. And when DH is with us and we're out and she's sleeping, he's able to lift the carrier in and out. But she's tall and about to hit the height limit so we're going to have to give up the carrier completely soon. She's 7 months today.

We switched at 9 months old because she was getting too heavy in the infant car seat.

i switched at 5-6 months. he was just too heavy to carry around and i had a really bad back.

I switched over at about a year...that seat was a killer to carry and she was getting to long for it anyway.

DS has been in one since birth. Never had an infant seat. My other 3 babies I changed over at 4 months(20 lbs).

15 months when he reached the height limit (at almost 2 years old, he STILL hasn't reached the weight limit!).

We stopped carrying the carseat around much earlier. Just left it clicked into the car and put him in and out.

The good thing was that if he fell asleep in the car, I could just take the seat out and put it on the stroller to go on our way instead of having to wake him up. Once we switched him to the convertible carrier, I really missed having this option!!!

I switched DS at 5 months when he hit the height limit of his infant seat. I switched DD at 7 months but should have done it at 6 months. She hit the height limit at 7 months.
