What do you think about flying with a 2 month old?
I took my DD to Florida for 10 days when she was just under 10 wkd old. I was a bit nervous about doing it, but I'm glad I did it. I needed to get out of the house after 10 long, cold weeks alone inside and turns out, my DD was (and still is!) a great traveler. But I think it's a personal decision. Most people thought I was nuts for even attempting such a trip!

The shots they get at that age don't really protect against the common illness they might pick up, especially on a plane.
I know myself, I always get sick after flying. It's something with the recirculated air and everyone's germs just being pumped back into the cabin.
I feel like a 2 months old, they are still pretty fragile and vulnerable and getting a common cold or the flu can be more serious.
Not to mention Measles is making a comeback thanks to people not vaccinating and they don't have their MMR until much later.
I'd probably side with your DH and opt to drive somewhere to avoid the plane and the germs
Yup

Nope, considering a low grade fever in a two month old leads to a spinal tap (which I had to do with my second and it was horrible to watch) I wouldn't risk it for a vacation.
Same here! It was terrifying.

Isn't your dh a doctor? I would trust him on this one.
I was planning on flying when ds will be 4 mo, and I'm even cancelling that bc I am too nervous for him to get sick at that age. Dd was a summer baby, and it was so much easier

I flew when my son was 6 weeks and my daughter was about 3 months. Both International in the summer and no issues. Doctor didn't mind either.

I would. We flew with my DS at 4 months and it was easy. I would think at 2 it wouldn't be much different (probably sleep most the the trip). And since you are in the area a trip to FL is a super quick plane ride. I say go for it!
I would too. We flew with my DS just before he was 3 months old as well. I wore him the whole time

Re: What do you think about flying with a 2 month old?
Not only would I NOT want to fly with a 2 month old baby (way too many gross germs on a plane) but I wouldn't want to vacation with a 2 month old either. Doesn't sound relaxing to me. ((shrug))

Flying with 2 MONTH old for leisure no less, is insane to me. One round of shots means nothing for an infant, regarding other communicable diseases.

I flew with both my LOs before they were 2 mos. I wouldn't even think twice about it. I wouldn't not go away because of the baby. I would fly or drive, whichever is easier. At that age for me flying was definitely easier.
