What is everyones thoughts on bottle warmers?
My sister said she always wanted one, and thought I should register for it. I plan on BF at night, but will be going back to work at 12 weeks. (Overnight shift). I thought it might be easier on DH to have one. Any thoughts?

Re: What is everyones thoughts on bottle warmers?
I never got one and never missed it but I did just go out and get a CAR bottle warmer
We were at my nephews football game last week with nowhere to warm her bottle.

I registerd for a travel warmer. My sister said it would be a good idea if I was somewhere I couldn't warm the bottle up.

Re: What is everyones thoughts on bottle warmers?
I have 2 SILs who were against them and one that was for it. One SIL against it said it took too long because by the time the baby's hungry he or she is already crying and then you have to take the time to warm it up. My other SIL was bothered by the principle of it. She said in life your milk is cold, so why get them so used to warm milk at every feeding? Plus, she made the point about when you're out and you don't have an outlet for a warmer. My SIL for it said she thought it made a nice transition from nursing. Either way to each his own. Personally, I don't think I'm going to get one.

Re: What is everyones thoughts on bottle warmers?
I didn't register for one and after about 2 weeks of holding a screaming baby and trying to get her bottle warm using hot water I had enough and got the warmer. It's awesome!!!! SO glad I have it......she has nice, warm bottles in 2 2-3 min. flat. I'm really glad I went and bought one. I got the First Years Bottle Warmer which was like $12-15.

Re: What is everyones thoughts on bottle warmers?
i was against the warmer origionally... that lasted two weeks for the cup of hot water takes too long... if your nursery is on a different level then you kitchen then i highly recommened the bottle warmed by especially for baby that not only warms the bottle but also keeps two bottles cold ... this has been a life saver for we dont have to go down stairs at 2 am to get a bottle...

Re: What is everyones thoughts on bottle warmers?
i did register for it, but wound up returning it. For me it seemed quicker to warm a mug in the micro for one minute and then put the bottle in the water while i changed dds diaper. Once she was clean, the bottle was warm enough to drink. That was always our routine.

IMO it is a must-have!

Re: What is everyones thoughts on bottle warmers?
Our BR is upstairs and the tap water took a year to warm up so when we used the liquid formula or refrigerated BM, we used the bottle warmer- When we used powder, my DS had room temp bottles at night...It really helped when it was 3AM and he would wake up like he hadn't eaten in a week hootin and hollering because he was hungry I have also heard of people using mini crock poits at night, though I've never done this myself

Re: What is everyones thoughts on bottle warmers?
DS just drinks his bottle at room temp. I don't think you really need one, but it all depends on what you want. Some people want their babies to have warm bottles- it's all about preferance.

Re: What is everyones thoughts on bottle warmers?
we always served dd's bottle at room temp, this way there was never a problem no matter where were if we couldn't warm it.

Re: What is everyones thoughts on bottle warmers?
Definately a not needed item. We were thinking of getting one and after speaking to the sales girl at BRU honestly using the stove will heat the bottle a lot quicker.
The bottle warmers are not real accurate. You have to measure the water and the measurements they give you doesnt always mean it's the correct amount. You may have to add more, may need less.
A travel one for the car may be useful because if you're out their isnt always a way to heat up the bottle

Re: What is everyones thoughts on bottle warmers?
Lily hated cold formula, so we had one for her. It doesn't take all that long to warm the bottle....she was never screaming and crying while she waited.

Re: What is everyones thoughts on bottle warmers?
nope... we just run hot water into a bowl and plop the bottle in it. works great, and there's one less gadget in our kitchen

me niether. IMHO, you do not need your child getting used to warm bottles. I would make dd's bottle with room temp water and she never complained

same here. DS has had room temp bottles the whole time and is very happy with it. when i go out, i just bring a bottle of water to make the bottle and he's content. no need to have to warm it IMO--i didn't want to create that mess of my baby always wanting a warm bottle.
