When I was nursing I was asked when I planned to start him on formula because formula "is so nutritious". Ok, over breast milk? Sure
Lol this and "she will sleep better/longer if you give her formula at night"

Re: What is the most annoying/wrong advice you have received?
I was told I should stop breastfeeding DSat 3 months because he cried a lot. They swore he was always hungry ( but i actually produced an insane amount of BM ). I EBF to 16 months, and DS has been in the 90% for weight and 99% in height since he was a month old. So much for him starving.
Recently, I have been told by several people that I was supposed to switch DS from RF to FF at one years old. dS is 22 months and still rf.
Also, how i was supposed to give dS juice at 6 months. He has never had juice. No need. Hr loves water and milk.

What is the most annoying/wrong advice you have received?
I feel VERY lucky reading some of these. I get questions mostly from my mom but she knows not to push it.
Definitely the juice question along with when can she have ice cream - dd has a milk allergy so the answer is always going to be NO for now!. Others are when can she turn forward in the car and when can she have a pillow or a blanket in the crib.

What is the most annoying/wrong advice you have received?
not much because no one had any experience with twins let alone preemie twins. i was like a dictator in my house to anyone that wanted to help. i told them what to do and how to do it. any advice i received i laughed off in my head and gave a polite nod.

By paid attention....I mean even giving any thought to it to let it bother me. I'm sure people have given advice but I never even let it enter my thoughts enough to remember it.
Sort of like all the pregnancy comments. I'm sure I had people giving it but I don't remember.

EVERY TIME SHE CRIES OR WHINES: "she must be hungry..."
Do you BF? I get this all the time (more so when she was just born.) This is to imply my BM is not sufficient enough?? Ughhh
Ugh same here! And then I would get questioned, "are you sure you're making enough milk?" This was at 10 months.
I still get this. My twins are a year and are in the 50-75 percentiles for height and weight.
I have heard every single one of these - except the lung strengthening one

Re: What is the most annoying/wrong advice you have received?
I just remembered another one! My grandmother told me to tie a string to the pacifier, and hang the string around dd's neck.

Re: What is the most annoying/wrong advice you have received?
On the opposite side of things from most of you....:
#1:
"You're NOT BF?! Wow. Ok. <insert judgmental look here>."
Response: "Nope - we decided what was best for our family and BF wasn't for us."
#2:
"You let her cry at night? That's going to scar her."
Response: "It was 2 tough nights of tears, but she now sleeps every night from 6:30 pm - 9:30 am and is the happiest baby on the block"
Unreal how many people made me feel like a sh!tty mother because of these two things.
Others.....
"The baby should be facing forward in the car. She needs to see you. She'll feel safer."
Response: "Actually, she'll BE safer if she is rear facing."
From my ILs:
"It's so weird! Even though she always goes to bed at 6:30 by you, she NEVER does here! Last night she was up and having fun at midnight!!! No signs of tiredness!!"
Response: "............!?? Oh. Well, I'm sure she would have gone to bed MUCH earlier, WITHOUT tears, if you tried..............."

Are you guys ready for this: I should not worry about projectile vomiting because DH had it as a baby, so it's just a hereditary thing.
This list of other gems like this one is endless.

Re: What is the most annoying/wrong advice you have received?
not really advice but just little digs I guess...
well you shouldn't use powder formula you will contaminate the formula...my << insert name of sil>>>>uses liquid on <<<insert name of nephew>>. .... fast forward to sil baby number two and who do I see mixing powder formula for her grandbaby ???? the pot or the kettle not sure which one she wanted to be ;).
even though I was dying to say well what do you think the LIQUID formula is made from ??? and all these recalls I mean u really don't kow how sanitary things are in factories . Plus its not like I didn't wash my hands before always making and feeding her. I bit my tongue everytime I see a bottle being made over there now ...I keep my mouth shut to keep the peace ( even though im dying to blurt out what was said in my presence knowing I used powder )
rant over sorry ladies lol
