Re: When changing diapers w/just pee....
i think it's different for a boy vs girl.
boys don't wipe in general after they pee. i usually don't wipe DS except in the morning. i don't want him being wet from the wipe, especially if he is dry to begin with. he never ever smells of pee, and i'm worried about the wipes irritating his skin.

Re: When changing diapers w/just pee....
I wipe with every diaper change....
It's touching her skin, and therefore her skin isn't clean.... JMO tho.

the nurse in the hospital said that pee is sterile and it's not necessary to wipe after every wet diaper.

Re: When changing diapers w/just pee....
I used to wipe at every pee diaper change. Then I was reading on here how its not always necessary to use one and my sister told me the same thing.
So now I generally only use on when she gets a new diaper in the AM or after a really long nap.

I think this topic became heated once before
I don't use a wipe since there is nothing wet there.
Really????? What was the issue?
IIRC many said it was gross not to \
oh yes, that was a good one
How did I miss that one???
For the record, I do wipe in the morning after the overnight diaper.
I'm the one who posted this same question awhile back I was suprised at how heated it got!!!
Anyway I use wipes for DD's first diaper change in the morning. The rest of the time usually I don't unless she is super wet.

Re: When changing diapers w/just pee....
I do in the morning. I let her sit there for a little bit to dry off before putting her diaper on.

Re: When changing diapers w/just pee....
If the diaper seems dry then no. If it seems wet then yes. I change her often and sometimes can't tell if she even peed or not.
Now poops, I use about 10 every time

Re: When changing diapers w/just pee....
I usually don't. He's a boy. boys don't wipe for pee! I'm just kidding - that's not really why. it's just because he is always dry anyway and he never smelled like pee pee either....

Re: When changing diapers w/just pee....
I use wipes.. but never thought about it.. kinda just did it. But you bring up a good point about how we just wipe dry so why cant be the same for dd.. Hmmm could save some money.
eta: actually just thought about it.. When i pee it goes straight into toilet, not sitting in it.. dd is sitting in it. For that reason Ill use the wipes.

I always wipe when there is only pee.
The way I see it, there is pee on her. Like someone else said, they are sitting in it no matter how good we are with diaper changes throughout the day. I understand why some dont, but me personally, I couldnt not wipe.

Re: When changing diapers w/just pee....
Only use wipes first thing in the morning or after a really wet diaper. Oh and of course for poopies. But just pee I find he is less rashy if I don't use wipes.

Thay aren't really "sitting" in it like they do poop, as the diapers absorb the pee. I've never taken a diaper off that has felt wet to the touch.
I don't know about anyone else, but DD doesn't smell like pee after having her diaper changed without being wiped. Her diaper does, but not her

Yeah, a few people have said "sitting in pee"? I don't understand that at all, pee is absorbed into the diaper.

I would give my daughter the same dignity I would give myself. I wipe myself therefore I will wipe her. Diapers only absorb so much. I think it is silly to think that the absorbency of a diaper will keep our children as dry as the Sahara.
I use wipes. I will ALWAYS use wipes. If someone doesn't like it, tough nuggies!

Re: When changing diapers w/just pee....
Not always but I definately do in the morning because you can smell the urine. I have two boys so I don't know what I would do with a girl. I think with a gorl, I would wipe more often with urine.

Re: When changing diapers w/just pee....
I always wipe DD if her diaper is only wet...I really never thought of not doing it. I guess everyone is different and has different reasons why they wouldn't.
I pee and wipe myself everytime, why would DD be any different.

Re: When changing diapers w/just pee....
I do.... I figure the pee can be more irritating than the poo (ammonia-ish after a while), so I always wipe... but only 1 wipe

ITA...I understand where the whole sterile thing comes from...but again, even if i was wearing a Depends, i would wanna wipe myself..just a personal thing i suppose..
Sometimes pee pee can cause irritation depending on what we are letting the kids eat or drink..too much apple juice, OJ etc... i dunno, ill keep wiping ;)
