this yr things got very tight so our budget for each other 40-50 each.
Same here, we sent a $50 limit on eachother and are only getting the baby 1 thing each (she will only be 8 months old).

We have always been frugal and money is tighter now that I am a SAHM.
For gifts we really focus on the kids, DS was 1 last year and we spent about $150 between his b'day (Christmas Eve) and Christmas, we spent about the same on my DSS. We set a limit of $25 on our 12 nieces/nephews, for our 11 siblings and their spouses we made hot pepper vinegar and we made photobooks for the grandparents. We also made gifts for each other and bought a camcorder for the family.
This year we will follow a similar pattern, I do think it is important to have something for DH to open; so far I am planning to make him garden stakes (he loves to garden) I am going to get a bunch of paint stirrers and have DS color pictures of veggies, which I will laminate and attach to the paint stirrers. I am trying to figure out what else I can do for him, but I'm having a hard time coming up with ideas

DH and I never exchange gifts, not for the past 4 years or so. we would rather save and have money in the bank. This christmas will be tight bc we are closing on a new house one month before christmas. we are only getting DS's (2 YO and 6 MO) a few things. we have a lot of kids to buy for adn try to find things on sale. we never exhange w/ adults . it was hard getting it through ppls heads, they would buy anyway, then we would rush to get something. last year we bought Nothing. so hope these people get the hint this year.
