Where would you chose to live?

Which town would you live in? Thanks for your insights!

I love all 3 but my top pic would be Garden City. I just love the entire atmosphere there and it is close to everything

garden city would be my choice... some of those old homes look so stately.... just gorgeous... and I agree, it's in the middle of everything...

I will say I've never been to rockville center, so I just ignored that option in your question.....

They are all really nice.

I would have to choose RVC. It's cute and on the Babylon train line (I know Massapequa is as well but, RVC is a bit more west). The Babylon train line always seems to have the most trains (I know not all of them stop everywhere).

Garden City hands down. Primarily because of the schools and its mid island location (closer to the north shore and south shore). Ten years ago when I was looking, I wasn't that impressed with RVC schools. At that time, I was told that a lot of people in the area used catholic schools. I'm not sure if that has changed.

Garden City is beautiful, but they have SOOOOOOOO many regulations. No fences, no pools, etc... For the taxes they pay, it's not worth it to me IMHO.

Rockville Centre is OK. Some parts are very congested. Some parts aren't good at all!

Massapequa...I'm only familiar with one small part of it (where my BIL used to live) and I didn't like the area at ALL!!!

Really, you should check out Garden City South (bordering GC). Same gorgeous houses, not too many restrictions.

I would never pick GC b/c you can't have a pool and that is my dream

I would pick massapequa on the water- b/c it's my DH dream to dock the boat behind the house

I'm biased, but I choose Massapequa. Not only did I grow up there, but I just bought in Massapequa Park.

I love the area, close to malls, All American, Krisch's, good schools, bike paths. So many things going on in town and around town, close to the LIRR and on a great branch too.

It depends on exactly WHERE in Garden City - I'm not interested in bordering Heampstead w/ a "Garden City" mailing address - I want stately 'old school' Garden City -

SO, if you're talking about Garden City proper - then I'd take Garden City ........

But I'd take Massapequa over RVC -

Like others have stated, it would depend on where in GC. If we're talking Garden City with the large homes/estates, then GC wins, hands down. And I believe most people in GC send their children to private schools, like Chaminade, etc..

RVC and Mass. are nice, but the properties tend to be too small for my liking.

While all those are good I pick Massapequa.

I love the area of Nassau Shores. i would love a house there and I look often.

I would pick GC - that is where I grew up. You can have a pool, my cousins did on 9th avenue. I'm sure there are restrictions though.

If you can afford Garden City, go for it! The schools are excellent and it's a very nice upper class area. It's convenient to shopping/restaurants and easy to get to Manhattan on LIRR. The homes are very expensive, much more so than the other areas you listed.

I guess to each his own, I have four friends that bought in Garden City in the last 5 years, specifically for the schools.

I thought RVC schools were ranked higher than GC.

i grew up in mass. but i would pick rvc cause its closer to manhattan.
