you are absolutely right. But with the risk there I have felt better. I hate being on the pill, and raw is much more fun.

Re: Who here is Pulling and Praying?
Is everyone who is practicing this ready and prepared (as much as one can be finacially and emtionally) for a child if it does result in one?
I can understand this method if you are in the beginning stages of TTC... if it happens, it happens but JMO I don't think it's the best practice if you aren't prepared. As a teacher I think I see way too many kids conceived this way because I see or hear the situations the parents are in.
I can only think about my cousin and his wife who now have 8, YES EIGHT kids!!!! Do they have the resources to care, educate and support 8 kids ABSOLUTELY NOT?!!! Everyday the youngest three are sent to their 74 year old grandmother's house (my aunt) for babysitting because my cousin's wife can't handle all of them at the same time. My aunt is exhausted but she can't say no because she worries for her grandkids. IMO my cousin and his wife (who had all of them by C-section) have been very irresponsible. She was told by her doctor after the third pregnancy she was to have no more children. She can't find ob-gyns that will treat her because she has been pregnant so many times.

yes but I believe the catholic church approves of this method.
I found this...not sure what to think: The church teaches as absolutely required that in any use whatever of marriage there must be no impairment of its natural capacity to procreate human life
Also...who's to say that you cant be a practicing catholic and be a good person and use BC at the same time? I never understood why it is looked at as a sin.
My cousin is 32 and just had her 6th baby because of the no BC rule. They lost 2 so this would have been their 8th. I think this is insane.

Does she have medical reasons for that. I just cant believe anyone would say that to her. Its her choice. Plus they are getting their money.
I am catholic and I got married in the catholic church but im sorry the pull out and pray method is dumb. if you don't believe in birth control then don't do it.
I believe in birth control maybe IM going to hell. I thought the catholic church taught don't do it. Or to calculate your cycle.

Janice -- You might check out the book Taking Charge of Your Fertility -- it's a great book and explains when you are and are not fertile. Takes all the guess work out of the situation and you can relax and have fun!!

Keller, I'm not agreeing or disagreeing with what the catholic Church teaches and I'm not about to argue my personal religious beliefs with you .... Janice should not have to either.
It's what the Catholic Church teaches, if she or I or you or Jane Doe decide to follow it it's their perogative. If you don;t agree with it, you don't have to follow it, but it's someone religon.
I don't understand why jewish people would follow the no dairy/meat combined at the same meal but I would never question them about it. It's what their religon teaches them.

What???? I was agreeing with you all - and I was saying I didnt understand why BC ws so taboo - I wasnt disagreeing on trying to present conflict to you or anyone else in any way, I think you took my post the wrng way?
ETA: I was doing research on it to learn more about it - I was raised catholic but not practicing anymore and I was interested in what the church had to say about it. I wasn't disagreeing or agreeing with it. I found it interesting and wanted to share my thoughts.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I wasn't trying to start drama. It's just this paragraph seems like you questioned Janice's thoughts on the subject. After many years of Catholic upbringing, I understand why the church thinks birth control is bad, doesn't mean I agree with it.
But yes the catholic church basically says you can't be a practicing catholic and be a good person and use birth control at the same time. It's basically what it boils down to.
Re: Who here is Pulling and Praying?
I so did not want this to go into a religion thing or me defending unprotected sex with my husband.
For the past 3 years I used BC, I am not trying to convert or preach to anyone. Just trying to get pull and pray stats
Tricky little internet chat board. I guess I read into then - hard to read emotion/tone ... no worries.
