Not for me. It made me Because I think Obama is the worst thing for the country which is why he didn't get my vote. Not everyone here thinks Obama is a wonderful leader.
You don't have to think someone is a wonderful leader to not speak untruths and try to create fear in people.
I was not a fan of Bush but I didn't walk around spewing conspiracy theories about him
Claiming that Obama administration is corrupted. Yes! Well , whose administration was NOT???? Bush's administration was not corrupted???
Let's get out and smell the roses!!!!
So we should stand for corruption then? basically thats exactly what your saying. Corruption is never ok but when it affects 1/6 of the economy theirs a problem.
and what conspiracy theories do u speak? Obama has been recorded saying that he wants Healthcare to be single payer.
Like i said (starter home) unless we vote these guys out in November.
once again my opinion thx.

Not for me. It made me Because I think Obama is the worst thing for the country which is why he didn't get my vote. Not everyone here thinks Obama is a wonderful leader.
Not saying everyone does or should at all. But to hear someone say "Obama's shady past" (to me at least) smacks of the poster subscribing to all that fear mongering that gets spewed from the likes of Glenn Beck. Which makes me not take anything else the poster said seriously
From the likes of Glenn Beck makes me Please Obama does have ties to a lot of radical thinkers. They are in the White House with him. You can't deny that. From Wright, to Van Jones to Anita Hill they are all very left wing radicals (IMO).
IMO we need radicals. Our country is becoming a joke, and the status quo will no longer fly. Now, I come from a long line of politicians, state senators, and federal employees, and have respect for them. Saying that, all politicians deal with shady people and many bills have backroom deals going on. You grease my palm, I'll grease yours. It may not be right, but it's certainly not special to the Democrats, or Obama.
We need radicals......Umm really? your right what we need now is a few more Hitler's, Castro's, and Stalin's. Now thats a scary thought.
you lose all my respect of even listening to you with ridiculous responses like this.....you know darn well she didnt mean that

Of course, corruption is never OK but you are clearly implying that OBAMA's administration is corrupted as if this is the only President with such administration. Why singling him when apparently anyone from any party is corrupted?
And if I remember correctly, Iraq was pretty pricey too!
My opinion too!

I agree. Here was a perfect opportunity to educate your point to those who ARE Obama supporters but are unsure of this bill.
Why would you write this out for those who are like-minded? Who cares then? Wasn't the point to sway people to your *side*?
ITA. Poorly thought out.
Sorry i spoke poorly of the annointed 1. Seriously get over it. its the truth.
and then this.........she didnt say that you couldnt speak poorly of him, but that you came out with gloves on, and instead of people being willing to listen to what you had to say, to take it in, you immediately turned off a lot of people by the chosen phrasing.
ETA: I was at least listening to you and open to what you had to say up until this point

If health care isn't to be considered as a right, and only for those who can afford it, then the notion of health care for all citizens would be a repulsive thought. If that is socialism, then our society really does have a problem!

I am not spewing conspiracy theories about him. Obama himself has said that he is a proponent of a single payer plan. He is a video of him on C-span saying that he isn't and then a clip from him at a AFL-CIO meeting.

So what's your point? You decided that OBAMA was your turning point.
That's beside the point of your post on the Healthcare Bill.
OK, we got that you don't like it.
Is it perfect? No.
But saying that our current system is fine is not going to get us anywhere.
50 Millions are without coverage.
We can't just keep beotching about it. At some point, we have to jump with both our feet and go for it.
Will there be "tweacking" along the journey? I am sure.
What plan was even going to please everyone? We have start somewhere. Creating a perfect plan is impossible. Someone is not going to be happy.
Nobody likes change. It disturbs our little routine, what we have and our comfort zone.
But in the end, those who are uncovered cannot be left uncovered.
Tomorrow I can lose my job, DH can lose his job. We can lose our house and with a young child how would I not have insurance? I will eat cheap pasta at every meal to afford COBRA.
Is that a sign of progress?
People are still losing their job, their health coverage.
Something HAD TO be done.
I am sorry you feel it was not the right decision. You are entitled to this opinion. But if you were part of those people who do struggle (and yes, some of them are hard working people!) you might feel differently.

Completely impartial here... And I agree that all government parties are corrupt...
But, why is it that Bush supporters were/are all ok (or at least mute) with his administration's corruption and the spending of billions upon billions of dollars on wars and military... but when it comes to Obama's administration and the spending of money on healthcare for our own country they react like it is a complete travesty?!?! And they act like it is the first administration to ever be involved in corruption... convenient I say! With our nation's healthcare system is where you decide you need to stand for the corruption huh?
Right wing conservative republicans never fail at turning a blind (sheepish) eye on their own party's administration... Similar to actions taken to impeach Clinton for lying about having affairs with Lewinsky... but not a care in the world to move to action and impeach Bush for lying about WMD and countless dead American soldiers brought home in boxes....
Just my two cents!

I don't think ALL Bush supporters approved of/blindly followed every decision made by his administration. To the contrary, it seems that that is exactly what too many Obama supporters are doing. We need to exercise our right to question/criticize what our elected officials do -- whether we voted for them or not and without regard to which side of the aisle they are on.
Also, the Clinton impeachment arose because he perjured himself. I am not aware of any instance in which Bush or any other President lied under oath.

Re: Why I am against the Healthcare Bill...
Not all of us against the bill are heartless sacrificial biotches.
I do think that we have a humanitarian obligation to help those that are truly impovershed, in dire financial need and that those that have been dealt an unforseen financial blow should get some sort of temporary relief. I stipulate my argument by stating that I should not have to subsidize through increased taxes and higher premiums for those that chose a different opportunity cost - i.e. an $800/month car payment over an already available medical coverage. Clearly these people are not in need. Where is the justice in that?
And I definitely don't think it should be mandated where you will be fined and/or punished for not carrying health coverage. That's where the unconstitutional argument is made.

I completely agree that as citizens you should never be so comfortable or blindly follow your party, but always be informed on all matters and ready to stand for your beliefs... but, sadly, blind following happens too often!
In my opinion, putting people's lives in danger for personal gain is far more criminal and more serious offense than lying about sexual affairs... and the sad fact is Bush was never tried or put on the stand for it...

I'm curious to know if people really understand the cost of this bill. And, no, I'm not making the argument that people just shouldn't be insured or we just shouldn't help others.
But, I am making the point that in all likelihood, the majority of people on these boards will be hit financially. Can you afford that?
Just to share some information, the Cadillac tax will be 40% of the value of individual plans costing more than $8500 per year and family plans costing more than $23,000 per year in 2014.
I administrate benefits for a group of 55 people- and we are considered a healthy group.
As of now, our individual plans (HMO and POS) are over $8,500 per year for an individual. Our family coverage is a TOUCH below $23,000 per year. By 2014, both will absolutely be above those numbers.
And, we have deductibles, copays and payroll deductions to pay for already.
The Cadillac tax is paid by the insurance company, but will absolutely be passed down to us as individuals.
I have had people asking me ALL DAY what will happen to our benefits...will they be cut and if they aren't, will any of us be able to afford them.
In closing, I believe there were other options for fixing the astronomical costs associated with health insurance. And, I believe that everyone should have access to care. But, I also believe this Bill will amount to a great deal of financial strain for many people who don't even realize it. And, as I discussed yesterday, I believe that the quality of care will diminish for everyone because the most vicious culprits of the problem seem to remain unnoticed.
THANK YOU!
I've been trying to say that for days.. badly too. haha

Re: Why I am against the Healthcare Bill...
Sorry, but I'm going to cluster post again:

for you talk radio people: Mark Levin is starting a law suit over the unconstitutional way this was done
Were you aware that the Patriot Act was also passed by “deem & pass” by the Republican controlled Congress? If, let’s say, the health care bill process was found to be unconstitutional, the Patriot Act would also go out the window, not to mention several other major pieces of legislation.

Please Obama does have ties to a lot of radical thinkers. They are in the White House with him. You can't deny that. From Wright, to Van Jones to Anita Hill they are all very left wing radicals (IMO).
Um, not for nothing, but not one of those three people are employed in this administration. Just who are you referring to that is “in the White House with him”?? And where did you read/hear that those three individuals have employment in this administration?

But everything from this man's past and who he has appointed lends me to believe otherwise. again my opinion
Again, who are you all referring to that he’s appointed??

I am not spewing conspiracy theories about him. Obama himself has said that he is a proponent of a single payer plan. He is a video of him on C-span saying that he isn't and then a clip from him at a AFL-CIO meeting.
Video
So what? A lot of Democrats have said they would prefer to have a single payer plan. Doesn’t mean it will happen. There are centrists and R’s in the Senate who WILL PREVENT that from going through. And if the polling continues to trend the way it is right now, there will be a lot more of them in Congress come fall.
Look, the bottom line with the legislation right now is that for all intents and purposes, the legislative calendar in the House and Senate is now DEAD. You read that right, D-E-A-D. They are going to recess early for the elections b/c all of their heads are on the chopping block. If they get anything bigger than the re-naming of a post office through for the rest of 2010, I would be shocked.
