Iron Yoga class, 1 hour.

How did you like it?

I loved it! It was tough, but really good for stretching and strength.

Did you use the olympic bar...45 lbs? you should write the total weight you did, with the bar. so, 35 is really 80 if you used the 45lb. olympic bar.

keep up the good work!!

I am not sure how much the bar weighs for the Squats, I'll ask a staff member.

The conventional deadlifts is that bar with the weight so that is the correct weight.

I am not too sore today, I am thinking I can go heavier.

Re: WORKOUT LOG

If the workout says 5 sets of 5, and you are able to do more than 5 reps with good form 5 times, then it's too light. the earlier sets can be heavier as well. if you can do 3 sets of 5 at 125 lbs, then drop it to 115 lbs for the remaining 2 sets, that's fine.

and soreness is not a sign of a good workout.

Okay, thanks for the advice.

My next weight training workout is Wednesday, which I call the #2 workout.

Today I was supposed to run, but I was really tired, so I took a nap when I got home from work instead.

I did walk during lunch, but I will be definitely be running tomorrow night.

See, THAT's how you do HIIT! Now try to do the 8 sets, and go slower if you have to on the last ones.

You're doing Great!!!

thanks- I think part of the problem was I needed to eat a snack an hour before- I was so hungry - and was still getting used to no sugar

I went to the supermarket after and got good stuff - so I feel much better today

tomorrow I will do all 8!

Re: WORKOUT LOG

You can sit with your back on a slight incline, just keeping your elbows down and your upper arms perpendicular to the floor.

are those dumbell presses 40 lbs in each arm? very impressive!!

Denise this is what Christine and Mrs.A sent me.

'HIIT stans for High Intensity Interval Training I believe, I didnt know what it meant either and then I asked snowboardgrl , Im copying what she emailed me. I also googled it and read more about it you can do this on any machine.

1. 5 minute warm up
2. run AS FAST AS YOU CAN for 30 seconds
3. slow jog, or walk for 60 seconds
4. repeat steps 2 and 3 7 more times
5. 5 minute cool down.
this is 22 minutes total.

When I say fast, I mean FAST, like if you went faster you would fall on the floor! for example, I run my fst intervals at 10-10.2, but it all depends on your fitness level.
You are running way to fast on your lows. when you run fast for 30 seconds, you are going to want to stop running for the slower 60 seconds. I know girls who jump off the treadmill all together and pace the floor, but if you don't want to do this, then do a slight jog, or walk for the 60 seconds. if you can run on 5-6 mph, your fast sprints aren't fast enough. the goal is to make a drastic change between the slow and the fast. Does this make sense?

if 8 mph is the fastest you can run, then it is fine. If I were you, I would TRY to run faster. use your leg muscles.

make sure you DON NOT do this on an empty stomache. and make sure you are fully digested. '
