No. It's a nightmare during traffic time to go in and out of your house.

Re: Would you buy a house on a very busy main street
nope. any road that was busy or even a cut thru rd was not even an option for us because we know we want kids. I persoanlly think its harder to re-sell it as well.
ETA we actually considered one home that had 1 acre of land and the house was about 1/2 acre from the street. the road didn't allow for parking so when you have a party or guests over everyone has to crowd in your driveway. And Long Island is still growing. it might not be that busy now but a few years from now it could be. and if its busy they could widen the road bringing it even closer to your property.

Re: Would you buy a house on a very busy main street
ONLY if the property was on multiple acres with an extremely long driveway in the front leading up to the house. There should be enough land around tho buffer the sound of traffic and create a safe environment for the child. So under normal circumstances-no.

Re: Would you buy a house on a very busy main street
absolutely not. there is a nice house near us right on a busy intersection...it's been for sale for 6 years or something. nobody wants it. location, location, location.

Nope, besides the safety, the noise would bother me.

Re: Would you buy a house on a very busy main street
no way! my parents don't have a double yellow line and it's not a busy street, but it's straight as a pin, so people can get up to 50 mph. Of course my DS took off into the street and I was lucky that I was able to get to sprint to the street between him and the car ( I didn't even have time to grab him)
no way - no how!

No. Not with kids and not for resale purposes either.
