I’m fine with it and I’m not vaccinated yet. I’m still waiting it out a bit, need more time to feel comfortable about it.
If it means I can’t return to work or go somewhere then so be it.
It’s my choice to not get vaccinated and it’s xyz’s choice to not let me in.
Do you work out of need or choice?
Need.
But it’s not lost on me that it’s a global pandemic we have all suffered through. It’s an unusual time and we can’t go back.
I would be sad that I would have to leave my job, honestly. Starting over after so much time.

I’m not in HR but I would think that if an employer is requiring it for in-person, they’d legally have to make accommodations and have someone work from home.
But like a more mom & pop type of place, I guess it would depend on labor and discrimination laws.
Some posters here have said their employers won’t broach the topic at all so I would assume it would be rare (like get a vaccine or you must quit).

A private employer would not have to make an accommodation based on vaccine status unless there was a medical or religious reason for not getting it.

Once it's fully FDA approved maybe. But for now, you'd probably have a leg to stand on if you fought it with a lawyer. I'm not a lawyer and have no idea, but this is just some stuff i have heard

The discrimination part is what gets me thinking how are these businesses getting away with making their employees get vaccinated. I can’t speak for all but for some people not getting vaccinated is a very serious decision and not just because they don’t feel like getting it. My niece’s job is making their employees getting vaccinated and proving it or they won’t be able to keep their job. This type of arbitrary ultimatum does not sit well with me at all. I mean even in medical jobs when they were trying to make everyone get the flu vaccine, they couldn’t make it happen and that’s the reason why employees like nurses for example, wear a mask instead of getting the flu shot. It seriously blows my mind how this is happening and how more people are not seeing how wrong this is.

Yes we haven’t heard that they would require it. Heck we haven’t even heard when we are coming back and I am totally fine with that with the weather getting nicer :)

Because the blinders are on for only being vaccinated and pushing that. This should be a consideration also.

I would think it could go to court since it is only for emergency use right now.

That's not true. Plus most people only have antibodies for 3-6 months (some others for longer, but it seems not to be the norm)
My son's school is allowing in person graduation but you have to provide one of the following:
1. Proof of a vaccine 2. A negative test 72 hours prior to the event 3. A doctor's note stating you had covid less than 90 days
They said that they took this from what the standards are, so it seems to be something that is acceptable.

Court works very slowly normally. I'd imagine you filed a suit TODAY and by the time you got before a judge, the vaccine would be FDA approved

It will most likely be fully approved long before any court case would be heard.

Even when it gets fda approved, there can be a chance to establish a law for not making it mandatory as long as people speak up of course. The flu vaccine is fda approved and it’s been a law I believe since about 2013 or so that if u refuse the flu shot and u work in a healthcare facility, u have to wear a mask during a 6 month period (I think that’s the length of time). I’m guessing the same would apply for covid vaccines even when they’re fda approved but again that’d depend if people fight for this.

How many people are allowed as we don’t need anything if the amount of people are much smaller?

ONLY vaccinated allowed
OSHA is now saying if your employer forces you to get vaccinated and you suffer any side effects you’re entitled to claims. So maybe employers will think twice about requiring the vaccine.

I really think the larger companies will not even want to touch this (forcing employees to be vaccinated to keep their jobs) with a 10 foot pole. Way too much risk. My company (large tech company) doesn't even want to discuss it, said they will not require it, and warned us we can't ask anyone their vaccine status.

Same. Haven’t heard one thing from my “larger” company and my hubby’s offer time to get it but never once said they require it to work there.
