Re: do you have CAC?
we have wall units and I'm actually quite happy with them (they are GE Profile) - the benefit over CAC, I found, is that they cool off the house much quicker - CAC takes much longer, so most people keep it on constantly. I like that we can stop it and open the windows and keep them opened until the last minute and be cool instantly.

We just had it installed this year & we love it! My husband "runs hot" & I have severe dust & environmental allergies, so having a high-powered HEPA filter running in all of our rooms all of the time was the selling point for me & it was SO worth it. My quality of life has improved dramatically...I'll never live without one again
I'm surprised that more people did not mention the allergy factor. Air conditioning can make a huge difference to allergy sufferers. We still don't have central but we have several newer style units. My eyes swell from allergies and it's usually better in air conditioning. Obviously, I did buy a home that did not come with it, though.

Re: do you have CAC?
We have it, however I plan on keeping windows open and using fans as much as possible. I love the flow of fresh air and prefer it over CAC. I am sure it will come in very handy on those sweltering days!

Re: do you have CAC?
YES we installed it last summer because it was unbearable in our house. We love it, they did a sick job installing it.

Re: do you have CAC?
I can't believe we went as long as we did with wall units! Had it 2 summers now and it was well worth the investment!

I think it really depends on the CAC installation. My house for instance, cools very quickly when I turn the CAC on.
I was quite hands on when they were doing my install, so I made sure they ran a high charge to the air-handler, as well as increasing the CFMs to all my supplies.
If you get a shotty install, I can definitely see the CAC taking a while to cool off.
I think the biggest advantage of my CAC is that it cools off the house evenly. So if I find myself moving between rooms often (especially going between the upstairs and downstairs), I don't have to worry about cooling 3 or 4 rooms at a time individually.

Yes. If our house didn't have it, I would've had it installed.

Re: do you have CAC?
We have central Air and Heat. Had to get used to it after not really having CAC (even though we had it growing up, parents hardly used it). and the forced heat was something to get used to, but I enjoy it.
