I also was going to suggest IJ morris or Parkside funeral homes. Make sure they are given a heads up about the covering of the grave w/ dirt at the funeral.
I have family at Mt Golda in Huntington- small Jewish cemetary ,( very quiet place across the street from a school) I also have family at New Montifiore.
Let people know about the custom of covering the mirrors and also washing your hands after leaving the cemetary and before and after you enter the shiva house.

They are taking so long to give him nuttrition. i don't know if it's malnutrition or just the disease but apparently he has dementia this afternoon. He's yelling for help and when people run to help him and ask what he needs help with he says "parking" or "i don't know"..

They said he can live 1-2 months, but I am just getting the feeling like it won't be that long at all. We all kind of hope it won't be. he's suffering so much.

Maybe he'll be better once the nutrition starts. He hasn't eaten in about a week. I don't know WTH they are waiting for!!!!!

Thanks for the suggestions. I emailed allof those palces. I think the best thing is to see if the funeral director can meet us at the hospital to go over everything, since MIL is not going to go anywhere.

Did I mention about the hospice already? He wants to go home and mom wants to bring him home but really he needs inpatient hospice. He's really a controlling person and no one is allowed to touch anythign in the house, but we will have to get merry maids in for some SERIOUS cleaning before the shiva, so in that way it's better that he doesn't come home, because if he's home he's going to get very agitated and upset even if we clean/straighten up for him to come home..

and MY mom already called me 3x today with her crises (See relationshjip board posts..she's totally dependent) and I just can NOT deal at all.

I totally gave up on my diet, and probably lent too this week, please tell me this is ok.

I haven't read the entire thread, so I'm guessing by now you have all the shiva info you need so whatever I would say would be redundant.
