Daycare moms- question

Does your daycare wash bowls, cups, etc. or do they send them home dirty? Just curious what the norm is.

Re: Daycare moms- question

I don't know about bowls and stuff but they send my bottle home dirty. I liek it better that way cause I would wash them anyway.

Actually I think my daycare provides everything when they are older. I am sure when we are still providing baby food it will be just like the bottles.

Re: Daycare moms- question

- we send in 3 bottles a day for the baby and they just rinse it out. I put them in the dishwasher each night, but at least it's clean enough where there's no residue

- sippy for my toddler is cleaned everyday at daycare and they keep it there all week. I take it home Thursdays (he doesn't go Fridays) to wash

- they provide spoons and bowls for stuff. Any container I send in that has DS's lunch is sent back home in his lunchbox for me to wash. The containers aren't washed out, but then again I usually put in cut up sandwich or goldfish so no rinsing is required. I think once I sent it soup they rinsed it out.

They rinse everything and send it home. I don't know what they do in the older rooms. My DD is in the infant room still.

I do know they keep some stuff there that they will wash, but the daily bottles, sippy cups and take and toss come home rinsed and I wash that night.

Re: Daycare moms- question

Everything stays there, so they wash them.

Including her sheets and blanket.

ETA - I'm surprised at how many of you take everything home. Do you all use day care centers?? We go to an in home center, and she washes everything and just keeps it there. So much easier than taking everything back and fourth all the time.

We use an in home daycare and have bowls and cups that we leave there and they wash them. When the twins were on bottles, they would rinse the bottles and the bottle parts and send them home daily.

Re: Daycare moms- question

Sometimes rinsed, sometimes dirty. They never washed or sanitized anything that we brought in.

I used in home for awhile. When I did, everything stayed there. At my current daycare, sheets come home on friday for washing. i have to send her food everyday, so her plates and bowls come back dirty. i don't send drinks. At a previous daycare, it was pretty much the same, except food was provided. but i usually sent some snacks (yogurt, fruit, etc) whatever i sent came home dirty or rinsed.

Re: Daycare moms- question

Thanks for the replies. The first 2 rooms that my son was in, they always washed everything before sending it home, and I guess I was spoiled by that- it was so nice! The next room he was in didn't have a sink, so they didn't wash anything, which was understandable. He just moved up again and they do have a sink, so I figured they would wash everything, but they haven't been. Seems like that's the norm though.

bowls and utensils stay there so they are cleaned.

sippy cups come home with me everyday; i only provide them one for water and milk and most of the time they still have milk/water in it cause DD does not drink much.

They provide food and drinks, but i am sure if i brought something in they rinse it/wash it.

On fridays i bring home all sheets to wash and bowls, and utensils too.

Re: Daycare moms- question

The only thing I sent were bottles and cups, they would rinse them.

As for sheets, blankets, etc., we take them home and wash them as needed. Once they were out of the infant rooms, the bedding comes home on Friday and goes back on Monday, unless there is a leak or they are sick.

they provide the bowls - spoons

when I use to send in bottles they'd rinse them - but then you have to wash/soap them at home.
