Fair hourly rate for Babysitter?
What do you pay or think is fair to pay per hour for a 16 - 18 year old HS College student to watch 2 school aged children?

I pay $12 an hour to a high school girl to watch my two school aged girls. Not sure if I think its fair, but its standard in my neighborhood (some ask for $15!)

My daughter charges $8 for one child, $12 for two, per hour.

We pay our sitter $15 an hour, but we have a 2 year old still in diapers who requires a bit more "work" than a school aged child. It's for a 5 /12 yr old and a 2 yr. old.
I like her and my kids like her, so I'm willing to pay an extra few dollars to keep her coming back. Right now we only use her for 2-hour increments ever couple of weeks.

DD's camp counselor who is 18 charges $10 for 1 child...so I would say maybe $12-13 for 2 kids?

We usually use family but on occasion have used a babysitter and I thought around $10/hr seems fair. Can't believe I am cheap! lol
I figured with minimum wage being like $8 and this being off the books $10 was generous... guess not!

Fair hourly rate for Babysitter?
If we go out for only 2 hours max I give her $$30.00-40.00 cause I feel it makes it worth it for her.
Anything more I would probably only pay 10.00-12.00 an hour which is more than fair for a 15 year old girl in high school who if worked on the books somewhere would make 8-9 bucks AND pay taxes! lol
