Nothing at all.
I don't get the whole 'it's going to snow so run to the store and stand in line' thing. We have enough food (and wine) here already to last us quite a while, no need for additional shopping.
I lost power for over an hour yesterday and my taps still ran....i never understood the stock piling of bottled water. Unless you have a well maybe. Not sure how well water works water but city water still flows from the tap in a power outage to fill the Brita .

Milk, bread, and eggs. Oh my!
Nothing special. We just got back from vacation yesterday so we needed milk and bread anyway as well as some other regular necessary items.

Milk, bread, and eggs. Oh my!
I couldn't get near Trader Joe's so I gave up and went to Best Market, which was sold out of everything and had 57 people on the cold cut line.
So nothing special over here!

I believe wells run on an electric pump. I don't think too many still have well water on they island these days. My sil lost power for a few days two weeks ago. No water and they have an electric stove so it was rough for them.

All I wanted were mozzarella sticks and cinnamon rolls from Trader Joe's. The parking lot was insane. I told DH not to come home tonight without junk food.

There is a chance the tap water won't be safe to drink. If there is a boil water advisory, I'd prefer to drink bottled water. If your electricity is out and your stove is electric, you won't be able to boil water.

Re: Milk, bread, and eggs. Oh my!
Here is the thing- I don't stock pile food in my house ever. I go grocery shopping on Monday's for food for the week and by the weekend our cupboards and fridge is empty. My kids eat all day when they are home. I don't keep nest in the freezer or excess boxes of snacks or pasta. I buy what we are consuming that week. So yeah, I had to go grocery shopping today for my weekly shop. I don't stock up on junk food but I do buy extra snacks for the kids and I will cook more "wintry" foods when it is going to snow.
It's funny because just like some people can't understand why people go grocery shopping before a storm I don't understand all the people who keep so much food in their house all the time.

It actually saves a lot of money! If something we eat very regularly is on sale, I'd rather buy extra at the sale price vs. paying full price the following week.
