Oh and let's not even mention the masks. There's a very real problem and discussion to be had when HEALTH CARE WORKERS who need the masks can't find the masks because every Susan in the country bought them all up and is hiding them in their underground bunker in preparation for the lock down.
How about some consideration for the people working on the front lines. Can they get some purell at least??
Hand sanitizer won’t even kill the virus completely. It’s being bought up for nothing.
Same with the masks. But unfortunately logic doesn't come in to play with end of the world scenarios like this.

Are you changing your plans and routines because of coronavirus?
And now someone in Westchester has been diagnosed...and of course he was commuting to NYC.

One of my best friend's step daughter has it. She's a nurse in Italy. They are not freaking out the way people are here. She is 25 and in good health. She is quarantined and will get better in due time.

It goes both ways. It's called having some consideration for your neighbors and not buying every roll of toilet paper you see. There's buying an extra bottle of purell to have on hand and then there's clearing out every shelf for miles. There's NO hand sanitizer left in the country. None. THAT'S bananas. Check Amazon. Have you ever seen AMAZON run out of a product across the board? No sanitizing wipes, gels, sprays.
People are clearing out all the toilet paper they can get their hands on. Why? Are they expecting to have explosive diarrhea while the state is on "lock down"?? Costco has no toilet paper. What are other people supposed to do, shit in the woods?? Gather foliage??
Agree with this. I think its ridiculous that people are hoarding these items out of hysteria. And yes, toilet paper!! SMH.

Does she have enough toilet paper though?

How about the decrease in sales on Coronas? Yes people are not eating Chinese food and drinking Coronas. It just shows how stupid people are and don’t pay attention to actual facts.
This is why I can’t take the hoarding serious or feel empathy. I bet the majority are not paying attention to what is actually the story and the other half are buying these things to sell them at 4x the price.
For NJ peeps, my DH works at a Target and there are pallets of water, my Acme also had water. I do agree NJ tap water is so gross, as well as the Chinese food. So maybe check those places if you are near one.

Well someone needs to tell NJ news to stop reporting it. It was in a press release by some government official but I can’t remember who.

Yes. Any nights I haven’t had time to cook since this pandemonium started we’ve gotten Chinese food to help support the businesses.

Re: Are you changing your plans and routines because of coronavirus?
Sash, I was at the target in Bridgewater and no large waters were there, just empty space. They had. Individual bottles, so I got some of those, but we drink the gallon sized or two gallon ones and those were gone. Walgreens has some so I got some there. In NY you can drink tap water, but I would not drink NJ tap water because I read the water report near me, and it has more chemicals than I would want in my body.
Edit, yup, I eat at the Chinese food place near me and our friends homes who are Chinese. One family did have to quarantine themselves, and did not tell their kid the father was home. He stayed in a hotel for two weeks in an abundance of caution.

It’s amazing to me how so many people on here are epidemiologists and psychologists diagnosing the situation and people from their posts alone!
Where is the empathy? People are scared. The mockery and judgement on here are astounding.
So, I am buying some extra household supplies and shelf stable food in case it is difficult to get to the store. And no, I do not suffer from paranoia.
Agreed! The high risk groups are elderly and people with underlying health conditions. It always feels like they are expendable in this type of situation. “Oh well they were 67 and had other health conditions.” As if it makes it ok. Where is the empathy?! I have both types in my family as I’m sure most people do and I’m scared for them. So for them I’m ok with the media causing hysteria. Do you realize how many people DON’T wash their hands?? If anything more people are washing their hands and paying attention to their hygiene which in my opinion we are all better off for that!

I drink the gallons as well, and since I’ve been working out we been drinking more water. Maybe the gallons were sold out where he work but my DH doesn’t pay attention. This was yesterday, maybe if I go back to my supermarket now, it will be a different story.
I also do not like or trust Nj tap water.

I'm on Long Island and I went to the supermarket today. Shelves were fully stocked with anything and everything you might need. Not sure where everyone is living that there's widespread panic but it's not near me!

Depending where in north jersey, check out hunan taste in denville! It is my favorite Chinese restaurant ever, found it when I was in college, and I wish I were closer!

Re: Are you changing your plans and routines because of coronavirus?
The only thing I have changed, is washing my hands more often, and insisting for my DS to do it. He is 14 y/o and doesn't think it is important
I had lunch with some friends today and they were talking about getting lots of things, getting out of room on their fridge, the city shutting down, etc. I'm very calm on that matter. But it was funny that we ran out of milk and I forgot, and one of my friends told us that one neighboring school for one of her kids shut down today, because the guy on Westchester has a son on that school. Then.... I started to get concern about my milk and I was able to get some

I would assume it's all getting restocked as the normal deliveries come in on whatever day they normally get deliveries. The panic usually lasts a week before everyone gets bored and moves on to something else to worry about.

I was just reading an article about a NYC fertility clinic that’s inundated with women wanting to get their eggs harvested and frozen because of coronavirus. Insanity IMO.
