Bill to make covid vaccine mandatory in schools

If u don’t agree with this vaccine to be added to the already established vaccine schedule for children, I urge u to become active and help other parents that are also in ur position so this bill doesn’t pass. Call/email/write letters to ur local legislators and also the ones from other districts. If u do all these, keep doing it. The more they hear from u...the more they hear opposition, the better. Gather other parents and make multiple appointments to see them in person or go by urself. Spread awareness to other parents. Go to protests. If there’s none in ur area, don’t hesitate to plan one, there will be plenty of parents that will be willing to go to it. The senator that’s submitting this bill does not f*ck around, u better believe he will do everything and anything under his power to persuade other legislators to pass this bill. He’s the one that back in 2019 submitted the bill that got rid of all religious exemptions, making possible for any future vaccines to be added to the schedule. If u’ve been wanting to do something about this covid vaccine and ur children, now is the time to get LOUD.

Hoylman proposes covid vaccine mandate for school kids

External Image

* Since he just submitted this new bill today, the bill number might be available in a few days. I’ll share it in this post once I get it.

——————————————————-——————————

UPDATE: As some of u might already know, Dinowitz’s bill (a8378-requires immunization against COVID-19 for attendance at school) is currently in the assembly committee. It doesn’t appear to have a companion senate bill but I suspect it will soon and it’ll most likely be Hoylman’s bill.

A8378

I homeschool my kids (not by my own initiative) but I’ll absolutely help other parents that will be affected by this bill. This bill by this a$$hole brings me such horrible déjà vu! Chat Icon

Thanks for posting.

I live by the area that had the huge measles outbreak a few years ago and we fought for religious exemptions to be removed due to the fact the large religious group was responsible for the outbreak but if many had known what would happen - I don’t think they would’ve gone for it.

The bill you listed doesn’t say anything about mandating vaccines in school??
Am I missing something? reading the wrong thing?

When I click on the link the bill is to allow pharmacy to be able the administer the vaccine to kids 2-17 once it’s approved for that age group.

You’re correct. It’s just to allow the pharmacy to administer vaccines. It’s not even to mandate it, let alone in schools.

Are you talking about Brad Hoylman? Because this bill seems to differ.

Yes I’m sorry. This is a bill he submitted earlier in August. It seems that he just submitted a new bill to require schoolchildren to receive a covid vaccine. He actually just announced it today. So I’m thinking the bill number is not available yet. I’ll keep my eyes open and when I get it, I’ll share it here. I’ll edit this post in the meantime.

I totally understand. That year was when I, along with many other parents, decided to become vocal about this issue regardless of any backlash or how hot this topic was. The way they manipulated that outbreak that didn’t even have any deaths and the creation of that bill was the #1 reason why spreading awareness was crucial back then. Unfortunately there wasn’t enough time and many people didn’t care because they didn’t see the bigger picture, plus fear in that outbreak had already been instilled by those who wanted that bill to pass. The same happened the year after in NJ but the number of people (most of them parents) against the bill was enormous! Wayyyyy more than our numbers here in NY, fortunately they were able to cause enough uproar that not enough legislators voted yes for that bill so as for right now they still have their religious exemptions.

Ok. I thought maybe I was missing another part somewhere.

I will say this doesn’t surprise me in the least. It was only a matter of time given other vaccines are required!

It is horrifying to me that I may potentially be forced to put something into my child's body that I am not comfortable with. I got the vax. I did feel some pressure to do it (and now thanks to NY new governor I would have been forced anyway since I am a teacher.) I am not anti vax by any means. My children got their shots when they were young without any problem. Those vaccines were time tested. This is just too new for me and not enough known how it could potentially affect children (or adults for that matter) down the road. I'm kind of sick over it all. Very scary times.

I'm literally terrified of this. Terrified.
If they want to force me to get it fine- I'll deal with it.
But my child. Who isn't even fully developed. Who hasn't even hit puberty.
Who if she got Covid has a 99.9 percent chance of being fine...
I have to give her a brand new vaccine with who knows WHAT long term side effects on her fertility, her breasts, her heart etc. A vaccine that doesn't even work properly to begin with and where people are getting sick with Covid left right and sideways even after being vaccinated.
That needs to still be perfected quite obviously.
I am sick to my stomach.
I honestly can't even think about this because it puts me in a very dark place.
So I'm going back to the horses and flowers threads now...because if I think about this too much, I'll need a Xanax

I agree. We are getting our house ready to go on the market in the spring - our days in NY are numbered.

Same! It's so scary. I'm vaccinated also but I am not comfortable giving this to my kids. Not yet. In 2 or 3 years, sure, I'll think about it then but not now.

I have a hard time believing it will be mandated for pediatrics at this point. There are far too many people who are vehemently opposed to it. Just yesterday on my town's FB page, a mom asked if people would be interested in starting a homeschooling group if they mandated the vax. Over 300 people responded they would be interested. I would NEVER EVER want to homeschool my kids but I would have to consider it if the vax was mandated this year. I did not respond to her post and I suspect a lot of people who feel as I do did not respond either so I'm thinking the number would be much higher.

Re: Bill to make covid vaccine mandatory in schools

It still isn't approved for under 12. I am actually surprised that hasn't happened yet. I know it will, but I really thought once they approved it for 12 and up the younger kids would be right behind.
I wonder why....

Issue is, my DD is getting close to 12 so I wont' even have that as a protection from it anymore.

I’m in this situation as well and it scares me to the point I can’t sleep at night. At 12 they get the exact same dosage as adults. The same dosage that knocks out full grown men with fever, chills etc and has given teen boys myocarditis. The same dosage that is causing women in menopause to get their periods again! My daughter is petite and has barely started puberty. I can’t fathom being mandated to give her the full adult dosage of an unknown vaccine. How many kids in this situation has it even been tested on? The entire study was only 1000 kids, how many were 12 year olds that haven’t started puberty? Have they even looked at this group and long term effects? I’m irate that any Pediatric doctor would go along with this!!!! They have no idea the long term effects but they know right now the risk from covid is this age group is relatively low so is it worth this risk?how could they possibly mandate it when any protection is short lived and they are saying variants are coming that the vaccine will be useless against! Meanwhile they are saying the dose for 11 year olds will be one third most likely! These poor 12 year olds are the ones most screwed. We as parents cannot allow this to happen! If enough protest and resist and bring this to light we can stop it!

Totally agree, what about the kids under 12 years old? Isnt the vaccine recommended for 12 and up? So you are only going to make it mandatory for some of the kids?

Same - my oldest will be 12 before the end of the year…

I heard it will be under 12 in early 2022.

I don’t think it should be mandated for anyone. But I do know a lot of people who will line their kids up the first day it’s available. Jeez - a relative of mine took their kid on their 12th b-day.

I know I'm very cynical and I hate to say it, but I don't think it matters.
The entire state could protest on this asshole's doorstep and they will still pass whatever the hell they want.
I'm really starting to feel we have no say. In anything.
It's very disheartening.

Because we have so many that sit back and allow the government to run all over us. This country has turned into a bunch of wimps who want everyone to sit around singing Kumbaya and do whatever they are told.
