Mandatory vaccine spin off
Hearing more and more about mandatory vaccines. Today on the news, stadiums in Buffalo are considering mandatory vaccines to attend. Colleges still considering it. Right now, your “vaccine card” is only really good for 3 months to use it as a means to attend events.
As of now, we don’t know how long the vaccine lasts. So, if you got your vaccine in January, can you go to a football game in November? Can you go to school in September? Do you have to get vaccinated again? When they use terms like MANDATORY VACCINATION, one would assume you can’t show up with a negative test
This is still experimental, how can they even consider making this mandatory?! There are so many unknowns and this just doesn’t seem logical at all until we know how long it lasts and if you can spread Covid.

As of now, vaccines have been found to be effective for at least 6 months. I got my second shot in Feb and the excelsior pass has it “expiring” in August. By August, there will be more data and most scientists that who I follow say it will be extended.
As for being experimental, Pfizer either recently or in the next few weeks will be applying for full FDA approval. From what I read this, this will take several months.

It is absolutely ridiculous as you see what is happening with the J&J vaccine so who knows if the other ones will have issues and have to stop being used. Then what happens? Things have to shit down again?
This should never be mandatory and I am sorry people who don’t see this as a controlling of the state and government are truly brainwashed.
I am very much willing to take a test if needed but now my freedom and everyone else who do not want the vaccine will be taken away to do many things in life?
Am I correct to say also that this is an emergency vaccine and not even fully approved by the FDA?

I hope they dont require a booster. I will be out. I did get the vaccine, but will NOT commit if it becomes a yearly thing like the flu shot.

It’s important to remember that the moderna/ Pfizer & the j&j/ astra Zeneca vaccines are NOT the same. Moderna/ Pfizer are mRNA vaccines where as the J&J/ astra Zeneca are viral vector & inactive cold virus respectively. There IS a difference and it’s important to not group the vaccines together. This is why education from your doctor is important.

I'm annoyed that Cooperstown is requiring players 12+ to get it as it hasn't even bee approved for those 12-16 yet - I think that's ridiculous.

Exactly and people seem to be fine with that.
If that’s what they want, I have no problem with it as long as it’s a ‘fully informed consent’. That’s what medical freedom is all about which I fully support but I do have a problem if they’re not told the risks prior deciding if they want the vaccine, something that it’s not happening. I also have a problem with any vaccine mandate.

"They" are not making it mandatory. Private businesses can set rules for admission, as long as those rules are do not discriminate based on set classifications. Vaccine status is not one of those classes. If an establishment has decided that they will only allow those who have been vaccinated to be admitted to their venue, you do have a choice - get the vaccine or don't go. Nothing about that is "mandatory"

While I am sure not everybody has this opinion, many do and I have read the "i'll wait for everyone else to get it" comments on it. You can't have your cake and eat it too.

We are talking about elective and recreational things. Sporting events. Maybe concerts. Broadway Plays. I would personally LOVE to attend a packed sporting event or concert full of vaccinated people. I would feel more comfortable and we would be steps closer to being able to attend this event without having to wear a mask, something I am all for.

It will never be mandatory to be vaccinated to go to essential businesses. I doubt it will be mandatory for much of anything. Biden himself said he doesn't support vaccine passports. People need to calm down. And like a PP said, if there is a venue, such as Broadway, that will not allow you in unless you're vaccinated, then you don't go to a Broadway show. A Broadway show, a football game, a concert...those things aren't rights, they are privileges. It is perfectly acceptable to require something for those activities. But like I said, I don't think it will happen anyway.

I, for one being someone who does not want the vaccine, don’t feel the “comfort” of others getting it. First time I ever heard that being said.
The supermarket was just used as a place people go to on a regular basis. If one starts you never know how far it will go. Just like they were talking about being vaccinated for planes when it has been fine to fly. We can use a number of places to make a point as look at what Coumo is doing about the Bills. Then you have Texas that fully opened their stadium and the numbers have dropped.

If you really think you won't be able to go to an essential business like a supermarket without a vaccine, there is really no point in continuing this conversation.
States like Texas won't require vaccines anyways. They will just open up or at maximum require a prior covid test like they did in Buffalo. Florida is in the same boat.
