I am a huge animal lover. I have 2 dogs and 2 cats.

I do not think any animal belongs in a store, restaurant, etc. unless it is a service animal. There is just no reason for it.

ITA! I have 2 cats and 1 dog.

I don't get it and never will but people are going to do what they want to do so I stopped caring about it. Although I really prefer that pets not be brought to supermarkets & restaurants.

ETA...I do think pet owners should respect establishment rules. I was getting my nails done once and not only was there a NO PETS sign on the wall, one of the women working there was petrified of dogs. The customer kept her dog with her in the store. Chat Icon

I only like dogs in pubs. This little guy and I shared a very special moment on the dance floor later that night.

That lady looks just like her dog Chat Icon

Re: Bringing Dogs in Stores

I used to when I first bought my dog four years ago, however I was young, naive and stupid. I even got kicked out of a mall Now I find it rude, thoughtless and disgusting...I know so many people now with allergies and I think its rude unless the dog is a service dog. on a side note, I saw a woman with a cat on her front dashboard when she was driving... I was like "the cat wanted to go for a drive?" Chat Icon Chat Icon

oh BTW I remember all the controversial posts and I still think its a fun topic!

I take Capt Bob everywhere. If i am not sure if a place allowed dogs or not, i will call and ask ahead of time. if they say no, he does come with me.
When I say everywhere, i never take him to a restaurant or a supermarket. He loves home depot.

Re: Bringing Dogs in Stores

Unless its a restaurant or somewhere that serves food, I dont have a problem with it.

Re: Bringing Dogs in Stores

i bring my dog into pet-friendly places, like petco
we also went to brunch once in the city at a place that was pet-friendly (but you sit outside with the dogs)

I dont think its appropriate to bring animals in a store especially a restaurant
