Do you guys remember years ago when welfare used to give you more $$ for each kid? I think people were having more kids just to get more $. At least they stopped that.
I don't know if people would have kids just to increase their checks. I believe that is a cycle of having nothing. And having kids and babies are the only joy and gift that these people get. I think it is something for them to look forward to in a life that seems so bleek.
I in no way understand this concept, just a thought on why people on welfare keep having babies.

i just know myself...
I just cannot bring a child into this world knowing that i am struggling to keep myself above board.
I couldn't bear to not be able to give my child certain things that I feel they should have.
If i am having a hard time taking care of myself...how can i take care of a baby?

that show was sooooooo good. I felt so bad for that kid who was being tutored to be able to enlist.

it frightens me that that actually happens...

OMG I saw that too 
those poor people, especially the family that got evicted and the kids wanted to join the Army. I felt so bad for them.
The poor white girl who kept losing her money yet still had $$$ for pot - I dunno that was kind of lame...she shouldnt be buying pot if she is broke!!
The other couple - the black guy and spanish girl who had to move out too - I mean how broke were they really? She has a car and a cell phone!!
Put the 1st family, OMG I wanted to write them a check then and there!

I completely agree with you. I would love to TTC right now. I really want to be a mother, but there is no way we can afford a child right now, and I would feel guilty if we tried to have one.

IMO it isn't anybody's business what an adult's finances are. I would rather a child be loved by poor parents then neglected by wealthy ones. Being poor is a s u c k y way to go thru life, but people survive it.

I know that we can afford children now. We have our house and we have our cars and a boat. We want kids. I dont think we'll ever have enough $ in the bank but we will be OK.
Plus I told DH that at the first sign of struggling financially we are selling the boat and selling the house and getting out of NY because I refuse to raise my kids living pay check to paycheck. That is enough to wreck a marriage and it's not how I want to live or have my kids live.

I also feel that there's always a reason not to have a baby... it's up to the couple to decide for or against those reasons.

see this is my view if i am not finacially stable how am i to care properly for a child does my child get by on only love ?? I don't see how it is my right to reproduce jus t because I can .... I love children but i don't have them based on the fact that I can

Personally, I couldn't do it. It's one thing not to provide your kids with extras like designer clothes and sports team stuff, but quite another not to be able to feed them and house them.

sometimes things happen, I know personally we werent ready financially but Alia was very welcomed and we are maintaining. It's not easy, but it can be done. We are making both efforts to make a better life for all of us.
