Re: Cross post - Toxicology reports for the Taconic Crash in

But what about the smoking? She could NOT be an occasional pot smoker to be smoking that early AND in front of her kids. I just find it hard to believe that she could function on that much alcohol and drugs and NO ONE knew it!! Can't wait to see what story they are going to tell at 1pm. I am sure it is that she was depressed and drank for that or that she had PPD and drank for that. Whatever it is, I am not sure I am going to believe it.
My post was specifically about whether her husband was aware if she had a serious drinking problem. I'm not saying she wasn't an alcoholic or a drug addict, none of us really know that for sure. Yet.
This thing reeks of a binge to me - she knew she had time away from the judging eyes of adults and took that opportunity to down as much alcohol and smoke as much pot as she could before she reached home. Like a kid who is away from their parent's view sneaking extra candy between meals.
There was a thread here a while back asking who smoked pot and I was very surprised at how many people said they were occasional or more than occasional smokers. I think it's much more common than we think.
As for functioning... Obviously, she couldn't. Driving erratically, the wrong way, with a complete disregard to all human life is not functioning, you know?

The westchester newspaper just reported that the medical examiner's office stated that they stand by their results and that they ruled out stroke, diabetes and any other medical problems. In fact, they said that the what the police thought could be high levels of sugar in her eye fluid was actually alcohol. The medical examiner also said that there was no evidence of a tooth abscess. I just don't believe the medical examiner could be completely wrong. If this gives the husband "peace" (if that is the appropriate word) than he should do it, but I really doubt the results will change.
Why were they looking for a tooth abscess? What would that have meant? I'm just curious...

I don't believe in the concept of an "occasional" pot smoker with children. IMO, that's just not ever good ifyou have kids because you are their parent 24/7.

The lawyer is suggesting that she had a stroke and then started drinking. He also said she had a tooth abscess for 2 months and was a diabetic.

Yet the autopsy showed no diabeties and no abscess.
My grandfather had a number of strokes before passing away, never once did he start doing shots of vodka afterwards
This lawyer must have gotten his degree from one of those mail order places.

ITA with you and having 2 kids of my own, I couldn't imagine not being ready physically for a 2 and 5 yr. old. 2 yr. old are CONSTANT.

The family said she had an abscess for 2 months that she wasn't seeking medical attention for.

Can't wait for this clown to waste his money on digging her up and another autopsy just for the same results to come back.

Re: Cross post - Toxicology reports for the Taconic Crash in
They really didnt give any huge revelation.. I had hoped the husband would have shed some light on this whole thing.
I know that the family doesn't want to believe that this seemingly perfect mother and wife was drinking and smoking while driving but I can not understand them saying she didn't drink or smoke and that the Medical Examiner is wrong...
I hope the truth comes out for closure for them all....

Re: Cross post - Toxicology reports for the Taconic Crash in
What a jerk that lawyer is. Getting his face time in before he even announces anything. Telling people he's going not going to call on them unless they raise their hand.
The only thing new I haven't heard (besides the excuses about medical conditions she supposedly had) was that there were four phone calls from the car before the crash.
Also, did he say she had a bump on her leg that was MOVING? What a GD circus. I can't believe what I just heard.
I was very happy to hear someone ask about his son but there weren't any details there either. I can understand wanting privacy for him, I just really wanted to know how he was doing.

Re: Cross post - Toxicology reports for the Taconic Crash in
they are looking for the "other glove"
I can see ONE positive maybe being wrong...but to mistake alcohol presence AND the presence of marijuana is highly unlikely.
he is trying to establish a causal link between her diabetes, the abcess (an open sore) and a bump on her leg (injuries like this generally effect diabetics more if they go untreated...though not sure how they are trying to link them and then say that the chemical makeup for the changes in blood sugar mirror or mimic the presence of drugs and alcohol in the blood????)
or maybe these injuries coupled with her diabetes caused her to lose her mind, like rabies or something...prompting her to go on a binge.....
not sure how many diabetics are regulars at the local bar though.
I wish there was a transcript of this press conference. I'd LOVE to read it.
Dominic Barbara used to ge a semi regular on the Howard Stern show too...not sure if he is anymore.

Crazy. Diabetics very definitely should not be drinking, or not heavily at any rate. It wreaks havoc with their blood sugar levels, so it would make the condition worse, maybe this is his arguement? But it's very flawed because her diabetes probably had little to do with the crash, and being inebriated more likely did.

Re: Cross post - Toxicology reports for the Taconic Crash in
He said she worked days and he was home with the kids. A sitter came when he had to leave and then she would return from work to relieve the sitter. So really they werent even in physical touch during the week.
Perhaps she put the kids to bed at night and had a few drinks at home. This could happen 5 nights a week without him even knowing what she was doing.. It would be easy for her to cover up drinking if they werent even home together on work days!

I wonder if there is some records indicating she WAS a diabetic, dr., work? Wouldn't anybody ELSE know? Sorry but I do not believe these people for ONE second. I think it is a tragedy for many people and pray they rest in peace BUT....this seems like a person who drank, smoked pot and had the outward appearance of being a "good" mom. I was just telling my dh that you have NO clue what happens behind closed doors in someone's home, even your own neighbors.
