But this happens every day to millions of families.....I am sure many people on this site alone got pregnant as a teen. You can't always fault the parent.
But this is a parent pushing an abstinance-only sex-education agenda. Obviously, it was not effective.
Actually that scenerio is more common than you may think. Granted, they may not be running for VP, but whatever.
she is still a strong woman, who is balancing family and career.
As far as her daughter being promiscuous...did anyone miss that little Monica Lewinsky thing a few years ago?
Whatever what? She is making policy, or will be, in this area- she is not an average parent. I do believe that sex ed needs to start and end in the home, but abstinance-only education is not effective.
Monica Lewinsky was an adult who had finished her education, so I don't see how that is a relevant example. I also did not call Bristol Palin "promiscuous"- a girl having sex with her longtime boyfriend does not fit the meaning of that term.
And since I'm on here, I also want to add that I think Palin's stance against abortion in cases of rape or incest is really anti-woman. That might be my biggest beef with her.
You didn't, someone else referenced that. Unfortuantely I quoted you, but it wasn't meant to be aimed at you.
My point is these people are not perfect. None of them are. They are all selfsh, lying, used car salesmen IMO. Very little of these issues really affect them. I wouldn't worry about her making ltoo much egislation since we have a majority democratic congress. I understand your point. The anti-abortion aspect bothers me to. It's not on the top of my list of priorities right now. Others may feel differently. Right now I am more concerned about the major issues and how Obama's/McCain's presidency would effect those issues.

********Obama explained his tax plan in depth, saying it’s better to lower taxes for Americans who make less money, so that they could afford to buy from his business. ********
He won't have a business, because he won't be able to operate.
exactly.
The theory makes no sense. It means that small businesses will lose money to taxes and then have to HOPE AND PRAY that their now "less taxed" customers will spend more with them to come out even??????

McCain is totally losing this because of his smugness.
I hate the passive-aggressive attitude.
At least he is being specific and answering questions unlike the Parrot Man I too think McCain is directly answering questions, unlike Obama.

IMO - I just think that McCain is a lot more whiny and huffy with his lies than Obama. They are both trying to bed us, so to speak. We will see what happens when they are elected. Neither will sit there and say, "I'm gonna turn this country to crap."

I think Mccain needs to stop being so negative towards Obama. I feel like Obama answers the questions, where as Mccain just picks Obama apart

BOTH of their plans will
the difference is Obama's (according the independent panels) will be temporary - and we, as a nation, will start to see a turn around
p.s. soooo glad he just made that point about late abortions
