Did YOU get the flu shot?

My boys have been getting it every year since they were of age to.
DH and I got it last year, but haven't yet this year. My older 3 yr old is in public preschool so he got it (but he's had it before) and my 1.5 yr old got it as well.
My mil just said its really important for us to get it. For some reason I haven't thought of it this year. Noe I feel like I should head to CVS and go.

Did YOU get the flu shot?

I was planning on it and just ended up forgetting but am goign to go get it tonight. Way too many people around me are getting sick.

DS got it and the Ped jsut said of all years this is very bad and highly rec all getting it.

Yup...They say it is bad this year and I rather be a little more protected.... My Mom refuses to get it because when she got it MANY years ago she got sick. Her dr keeps telling her he needs it.. Because she lives with us and we have a 3 year old...

yes. my dd is 5 months and this was my first time getting the shot. dh still has not gotten one though. if i didnt have dd, i probably would not have gotten one

DD's pediatrician gave it to me! At her 4 or 5 month appointment she was still too young but they asked if the could give it to me. DH is getting his today and my parents are for the first time as well. I keep seeing news reports about how bad it is this year, how many people have been hospitalized, etc. It was also good to hear that even though you can still get the flu, it would likely be less severe and not last as long as it would if you didn't have the vaccine.

We get it bc we didn't feel we should give tge girls something we weren't willing to get. Besides I figured won't help if I get the flu and have to take care of healthy kids..lol. Even my mom gets it and she can only take a specific brand bc she has antibiotic allergies.

Etd to add I also feellike I have just as much of a chance of getting it as the girls do. I have asthma so I don't want the flu.

Yes! Everyone in the house does. My DD went through RSV a few years back and we want to protect her from even a cold if possible. It's a no brainer in our home.

Yes every year. I work with sick people so I don't want to risk it. The flu is really bad this year. It's still a good idea to get it if you want but it's not effective immediately.

Yes - I get it every year. This year I got it at the supermarket one morning before doing my shopping.

Yes. I always get it & am super glad that I, DH, and both kids got it this year.

We were at a friend's house not too long ago whose DD would up having a horrible case of the flu. Both my kids were there. Both my kids are FINE. I hate having my kids sick!

Yes. I never got it before last year, when I was PG, but I work in a preschool and can't afford to be sick with an infant at home. I know I can still get it, but hopefully this will help prevent it. I just did it spontaneously when I was at Duane Reade one day.

ETA: DH has not gotten it yet, but I keep bugging him to.

I've gotten it twice the year I started trying to get pregnant and the year I was pregnant. DS has had it every year (2 years). I have not gotten it.

Yes, my entire houes did since a new baby is coming in 10 days.

So far, no flu or resp infections (though there have been sinus infections)

Yes - we all got the shot!

DS is in daycare, I am a teacher and DH is always flying for work.

Better safe than sorry.

I got the flu in SEPTEMBER before I got the flu shot and it SUCKED.

No never have and never got the flu. I'm very anti the flu shot so I won't get it and I won't give it to my DD.

Both of my girls had it. I need to get it. I'm calling my dr today. I'm very scared this flu season since so many have already died from the flu.
