Do you think it's rude for people to ask if you're going to have more kids?

Re: Do you think it's rude for people to ask if you're going to have more kids?
It's not rude to me, I don't think people are trying to be nosy, I think they are just curious or making small talk.
Now, for me personally, it is a very, very touchy subject, simply because I had a very traumatic labor with DS that I still can't comprehend e idea of another one AT ALL, but I'm not sure I'm one and done either. So it puts me in an awkward position because I feel sooooo conflicted and when I say that, people tend to trivialize it and say get over it, etc. I still don't think it's rude, but not everyone's answer is as cut and dried as yes or no.

I do think it's rude - but people seem to think a lot of personal questions are perfectctly acceptable for them to not only ask, but to then give you their long winded opinion on ..........(are you breastfeeding? does your kid have a pacifier? he shoudl be potty trained, he shouldn't eat A,B, C....etc etc)
When anyone asks me, I give them a defiant flat out NO WAY, I'm DONE. and I move on.
If I choose to have more kids ........well, SURPIRSE !!!
(well, not ME, I really am done, but I think it's just easier to tell people no and shut them up)

Yes.
And I have no issue verbalizing that to any fool who is brave enough to push me after I say I am one and done.
My sex life and what it produces are NOT topics of polite conversation.

I can see it being rude to someone who is dealing or has dealt with IF or difficulty conceiving. It's also annoying especially when you have literally just come from the delivery room after a 3 day labor... not that it happened to me or anything.

It is a VERY personal question to ask, and I find it to be a nosy and intrusive. I can see discussing this with my girlfriends, but a casual acquaintance has no business knowing if/when we plan to expand out family.
That said, I get asked this on almost a daily basis, so I'm pretty immune to it. I work with several yentas.
My sister had the best response to questions like this: "Get out of my womb!"
