I thought, for the first time in these debates, that the moderator was unbiased.

I also thought there was no clear "winner". I can't see either of them pulling people to their sides from tonight's debate.

Exactly if your main priority is guns, or abortion or your income taxes each citizen will vote accordingly. Hillary got my vote because of her stand on most issues. She is more moderate then DT who seems extreme to me.

There are a lot of misinformed, under-informed, knee-jerk emotional judgments on here. This thread is exactly why people who don't know should stay in their lane and let doctors and women make decisions about their own care.

Exactly.

Yes as a Public Health professional - DT and what he doesnt know and says is very dangerous.

On another note, I still can't believe Trump said he won't accept the results of the election if he loses. According to the latest 538 update, he has only a 12.6% chance of winning. So he may not just lose, he's going to lose bigly.

I don't see why this is such a horrifying thing. Do you think Hillary will accept it if Trump wins? Do you think most of the ladies on LIF will?

ETA: By "accept," I take it to mean "support" it. I did not take it to mean "believe" it was legitimate.

Oohh I took it as will he believe it was legitimate. He is already crying rigged system. So when he loses, he will say because it's been rigged.

The question was about conceding as all other losing presidential nominees do, in a professional manner - its called becoming humble and ACCEPTANCE that the other candidate won!!

Final Presidential Debate

In regards to roe v wade-he said that the Supreme Court justices he appoints would likely overturn, and he would support their decision. However, it would then fall to individual states, which is a more constitutional approach to many people.

Doesn't each state already have their own set of laws regarding abortion- such as time limits, etc.?

And no one is "pro-abortion"- I have never met anyone who thinks it's a good thing. It's about whether or not you get to make a decision about your body, or a government (which is still run mostly by old white men.)

Never? I have met people who have had multiple abortions. It's a piece of cake for them, a way instead of USING birth control. Plenty of people think it's nothing at all, so yeah, a good thing they can do after the fact of being very careless (again for those who have had multiple abortions and not yet learned to use BIRTH CONTROL).

No, I have never met anyone who's had multiple abortions. I've never met anyone who's "yay abortion." And while I think that kind of attitude is disgusting, it doesn't mean I think the government should force women to carry pregnancies to term.

Unfortunately, I have. I think the attitude is absolutely disgusting and the fact that there are places like planned parenthood (thank god, because we almost lost THAT outlet, too!) that make it easy to get things like birth control makes it completely inexcusable. That being said, these types of people are the exception, not the norm and I still am fully 100% pro-choice.

Yes, but by overturning Roe V Wade states could make abortion entirely illegal. Right now there are some states that are so restrictive it is close to being illegal --but not actually. While a state like NY will probably always keep abortions legal and safe, women in other states might have to travel hundreds or even thousands of miles which is why keeping it "the law of the land" is essential.
More recently we had this issue with same sex marriage. Prior to the SCOTUS saying all states had to make it legal, many states did not allow it. Same idea if Roe were overturned.

Which is exactly why it shouldn't be.

I was just pointing out that while RvW gives women the right to legal abortion, the states have their own sets of laws about it, so wouldn't the point of the OP's suggestion that the states be given the right to set laws regarding abortion be moot since that technically happens already?

The states do set their own laws BUT it has to be legal (despite loop holes and trigger laws). Overturn the ruling and they can just make it disappear all together. And many would.

I find this very scary. Very.
I am sorry but I still say I cannot imagine being FORCED to carry a pregnancy.
It won't affect me because I'm getting up there in age and by the time anything would change I'll probably be out of child rearing years, but I think of my daughter having to live in a country with no choice around HER body.
So so scary.

And do you want those women to be parents???

Or trust they can keep the fetus healthy or safe for 9 months?

Again, this is where personal opinions come into play. Would I rather babies be killed because their biological mothers may not be able to keep them safe in utero?

There are plenty of women who get pregnant, disregard all safety concerns for their fetus and still have healthy babies. There are plenty of women who use drugs and abuse their bodies, and the babies they create may pay a price. But someone out there would love to love them. Happens every day. I know 2 people personally who adopted babies whose mothers were on crack, and they might have some delays or issues, but they are in very well loved families and very happy children.

THIS.

Without going into detail, I have an absolutely beautiful nephew because the birth mother did not decide to abort her child.

Funny how Hillary is worried about toddlers killing each other with their parents loaded handguns, but have zero regard for a 9 month old fetus being sucked out of a womans stomach.

Sickening & horrifying.

I honestly stayed as quiet as possible and steered away from these political, clearly one sided Pro-Hillary cheer fests on this site day in & day out.

BUT,

I cannot support ANYONE who can support partial birth abortions.

I am not saying that Trump is a saint by any means, but as a WOMAN voter, a devoted catholic, and a republican, this goes against my beliefs.

Final Presidential Debate

As a woman - I will always stand by another woman's right to protect her body. I don't have a personal, vested, moral or religious interest in telling a woman she can't do something to her body. And I often wonder why more women don't feel that way - worry about your own body and who is trying to put legislation into effect that will impact your right to protect yourself. There are ninety million reasons for a woman to want an abortion - and unless one of those reasons directly impacts my life, why should I want to have an opinion about that? I am not being snarky I'm just wondering.

But the thing is - its not the WOMANS body being killed, its the FETUS.

Long after the abortion, the mother continues to live her life, and in many cases, goes on to get pregnant again....

What about the fetus? That life never had a chance.

Unless the mothers life is as risk, to me that is murder. Sorry, I feel so very strongly about this issue.

I cannot support ANYONE who can support partial birth abortions.

And I can't support anyone that has more regard for a fetus than a living, breathing child that can get gunned down in their school. A wanted, loved and cared for child. That to me is sick.

So your saying its okay for a careless gun owner to take the blame for their toddler getting their hands on a loaded handgun, which should be locked away, BUT (in many cares) a careless woman who has an unwanted pregnancy should have the right to kill their fetus?
