Do we need to schedule the 2nd as well - or is that being done when you receive the 1st?
My husband got his second appt when he received his first.
I just saw Cuomo adjusted the age categories to be 65+ and now allows those 65-74 to get the vaccine too.
The group he had before could barely get appointments (not saying that there are those in the 65-74 age bracket that don't deserve) but, it's such a mess, why add more people right now?
Because like everything else handled by the state it's an utter disaster
Exactly! I wonder what the states are going to do when Trump is out and they don’t have that scapegoat.
Lol - I saw a tweet yesterday - from Cuomo -
Andrew Cuomo @NYGovCuomo We simply cannot stay closed until the vaccine hits critical mass. The cost is too high. We will have nothing left to open. We must reopen the economy, but we must do it smartly and safely.
LMAO. Why the sudden change of heart? I wonder....
What is not open? Honestly, I don't see how this is a change of heart when there isn't much not open unless you're in a red zone.
As for vaccines, yes the sign ups are not going smoothly but many, many people are already vaccinated and now many, many more have appointments coming. No, its not always fair when it comes to who is allowed or able to sign up and when but last I read NY was doing much better than average in terms of getting vaccines administered.
He basically sounds like he took a snipet of Biden’s speech yesterday and changed the words around. Sorry, this is not what he has been saying during this entire pandemic.

I was able to book an appointment this morning easily
Do you think that is because it was morning? I’ve been trying for my parents and I am thinking if I do it when I wake up it will be early morning here and middle of the night in NY.

Where are you looking to get them an appointment? People have been having luck with Jones Beach when they log on at midnight when they open up new slots.

Ah, good to know, thanks.
They will take anywhere in Nassau or Suffolk.

We an start with restaurants in NYC for one. That is huge. No indoor dining in Dec and January? These places are going under and fast. Other places at 50 percent capacity. Barely enough to cover the overhead Bars Live Music Venues To name a few
If you or your family owned a restaurant or business in this category you would be singing a different tune I am quite sure.
Is nyc Cuomo's call or is that diBlasio's? I thought is was diblasio but I honestly am not sure. I do have friends and family that work in or own restaurants and thankfully they are all getting by. Obviously it's not easy or ideal but the only ones I know that closed down were on their way there before the pandemic.

Has anyone been able to schedule a Covid vaccine today??
I just tried to schedule an appt and it looks damn near impossible. I hope once CVS and other chain pharmacies get added, things will move much better. I even wonder if it is better to wait until then, because with the limited ones showing now, it looks like it will be months.

Unless you are in a high risk group, I'd wait. I can't deal with huge lines and hard to get appointments and stress like that unless it's absolutely necessary. I'm just annoyed that people 75 and over are having a hard time getting it at this point. That's some bullshitt if you ask me

I know someone who was able to get an appt today, for today. The place just opened their appts today as they just received the vaccines.

Re: Has anyone been able to schedule a Covid vaccine today??
Crazy thing is they opened it up to more people today which would make it harder for the 75+.
I understand that better to use them than to let them expire, but the problem seems to be just getting the appt- which means there aren't enough vaccinators. I may wait. Actually, since I can't get an appt, I don't really have a choice!

Has anyone been able to schedule a Covid vaccine today??
If you are eligible, you just need to keep trying at various times bc they are opening up new sites and new dates all the time. I know a lot of people that booked appointments yesterday and today for appointments between next week and March. It's definitely frustrating and difficult but the more vaccinated the better.

I agree, and now they just opened it to 65 and over, so it will be a disaster.

Yes timing is everything. I went on at 6:15am and was able to book so quickly. Last night, the site kept crashing.

How did you book if all the dates up till April at least at Jones Beach was full. The last date shown was April 16th, and there were no other dates?

There were spots available when I went on this morning for Jones Beach. I got an appointment in March. But I would keep checking because people will cancel appointments if they can get in sooner at other locations.

Do they ask you to put your health Insurance in when booking an appointment? I’m trying to get my parents in, and I want to be ready with their insurance info if needed. Thanks!

When I tried booking an appointment in Queens, the system requested my insurance information. When I booked the appointment on LI, it did not.

Thanks! I tried that but I keep getting a system error occurred. I’ll have to try from a PC.

Do you have a link for that. I don't see them listed on the state site and the stony brook site says they're still prioritizing 1a.
