Re: House style question(Colonial, victorian etc.)update
While we are not buying the "weird" house, we are buying the most inexpensive house on the block.
Don't get me wrong, it's a great house that needs a little outside cosmetic stuff. It is just the first house in the development, and the houses down the block are over a million dollars.

I sort of agree with your Mom in that you don't want to be the odd house but at the same time it's nice to have a house that stands out...I'm in a townhome and our house is the same as our neighbors and that can get pretty boring...
Do you see potential in it? Do you think there is anything you can do to make it blend in more with the other houses?
I think if you love it and it doesn't bother you, you shouldn't let it stop you - but it could be a reason why the house has not sold yet.
this is it. We havent seen it yet, but I think it had potential.

Is that house in Northport? If it is the house that I think it is, I looove it! Very unique.

WOOF
It was at the bottom of a hilled road, and it was on the top of its own hill... no back yard it just dropped and had waterfall pond things everywhere.
The house was cute and charming, however not practical at all to raise a family in, the search continues!
aww sorry!!! you def don't want to be at the bottom of a hill!!! all the streets runoff goes on your property!! good luck with your search!

House hunting should be fun. Not frustrating. I would have a talk with your REA and review your needs and wants. If they don't get it, find one that makes it enjoyable. You are actually paying them. Who brings the money to the closing, the buyer. Good Luck and think positive you will find the right home. Arthur.

Sorry it didn't work out, but you never know until you look.
I do think from the front, the house is cute though.
You should look at renovation pictures people here have psoted. If you are willing to put the time & $ in down the road, you can completely change the look of a house.
Goldenrod practically doubled the size of his house & many people have dormered capes & made them look more like Colonials.
