Im so sorry this happened to you! I give your DH credit for not killing the guy and going to the police instead. I hope that the people that did this are arrested, and that your DH gets compensated for the damages.
If that was my car, I think I would have gone down to that garage with a baseball bat looking for the guy!

like everyone said above, we know your upset & so srry to hear about this horrible situation, but whether you go on & on about it or just do what you have to do to get it fixed,its going to be the same outcome!
Life really IS too short to be so angry....and believe me I feel your pain bc like I had mentioned in an above post,I went thru a very similar situation  good luck!

Ok its not like she's been talking about this for weeks. It happened YESTERDAY. A lot of us feel bad and this is a board that supports one another - at least I thought so.
Beth, keep us posted. Sorry you have to go through this. I know if it was me, I'd probably not be as rational. You've made some smart choices! I probably wouldn't have thought to take all the steps you have. I hope you have a good outcome

I know it's just a car- but it was stolen from where I live and damaged by people who I paid to take care of it
this was my husbands DREAM car- that he dreamed about since he was a kid

Beth- have you thought about contacting the media? I can see this being one of those "Shame on You" segments or something similar. At the very least, it might give you leverage if they continue to jerk you around.

Yeah - a couple posts later i actually wrote that it probably wasnt her decision - she was probably instructed not to release them by her superiors. Someone then posted about that being unethical - but she would probably lose her job and no one knows her situation so i wouldnt take that personally (not that you were....).

It's ugly- I am waiting for my Dad's laywer to call me back- she will only turn over the tapes with a subpena
I want out of this lease and all of my money back
I can't live in a place like this
while were were down there today- a lady come over screaming that her car was keyed AGAIN- and the woman slammed the door on her
I am about to call the city and file a complaint
then channel 7, 4, and 2

OMG, this whole situation has just gotten so bad...you should call your realtor and let them know what kind of place they led you to....terrible. I hope that your father attorney gets back to you soon...did Jake take the car to a shop? can the transmission be repaired?

Have you called your insurance company yet? they could probably take care of all the legal stuff for you.... I know you are using a friend of the family, but the lawyers from the insurance company are probably much more equiped to deal with this.

I am sick to my stomach, shaking , and trying not to cry
I called my real estate agent- this morning- he gave me the name of the guy he deals with- I left him a message- explaining what happened- and that I would like to just forget about the lease- get all my money back- and move
I hope they let me out- I can't see why they would want us to stay- we are going to be suing the garage- I am sure the co-op board is not going to be happy
