I am still sick and getting crankier by the second looking at this list. Not one aggressive cat on it. Beginner kitties with colds. Perfectly adoptable cats who need 10 days of antibiotics to get better. These shelters need an overhaul and MAJOR reform.

Ok...pop quiz everyone...what do you do if your cat hasn't eaten in three days? Take him to the KILL shelter! No? Well that is what Charcoala's owner did Within a day he has a cold (maybe THAT is why he wasn't eating (but they would have know that if they had taken their poor kitty TO THE FRIGGIN VET So now, instead of antibiotics, Charcoala is going to get a needle and wind up in the freezer tomorrow. Please someone, save Charcoala. He doesnt deserve to die because his owner was an ignorant azz

On a brighter note i clicked on a few kitties on their website and many had the 'ive been adopted' note. Shelters pulling them i guess. Praying none get killed tomorrow

Day three of being sick and I have just about had it. When I checked the list tonight, i thought for sure they hadn't fully updated it yet. However, it is complete. There is one cat on it. She is old and likely needs PROPER medical attention but she is not in pain and is very friendly. She deserves to breathe her last breaths in the comfort of someone's warm embrace not at the cold hands of an executioner's needle.

Poor Mongo. He had crystals a while ago and requires a special diet to keep them from coming back. His owner states cost as the reason for surrender...but there is more...it would appear the real reason is the litter box. His owner travels a lot and when she is gone he has accidents. Apparently he needs companionship...companionship his present owner can't give him. So because of this he is going to die tomorrow. Because he misses people. His former owner states that has never bitten or scratched anyone even when his tail was pulled. This poor friendly kitty deserves a true forever home where he is understood and given unconditional love. Wont you be that person?

I saw Gregory's picture and immediately I wanted him Then I read his profile and I REALLY wanted him. that I hit lotto and get a house so i can rescue any cat i want. Gregory is listed as a stray but he is fit (aside from the cold that is going to get him killed tomorrow) and friendly. He allows all handling and comes to the front of the cage looking for attention. He is also neutered, which is also a clear indication that he was someones pet once. Wont you take Gregory and give him a home? he is a special kitty and has two pictures to help him find a place to live Please dont let him die tomorrow

:sigh: there is no indication that anyone came forward for Gregory, plus he is not on the list tonight, which leads me to the conclusion that... There are 19 cats on the list. A group that came in together and believed feral (why cant you just leave them be?????) and a group that was seized due to too many pets (possible hoarding situation).

Dh & I are both allergic to cats (unless there are any that are hypoallergenic like certain types of dogs?)
We actually recently adopted a hypoallergenic dog from Bobbi & the Strays who loves cats. He must have lived with one before. I wish I could give him a feline companion!
What breaks my heart even more is that it looks like they don't even give them blankets or towels or anything? How cruel! Of course theyll get sick. This is heartbreaking in so many ways.

Due to Martin Luther King, there will be no list tonight and the shelters are closed tomorrow! yeah!!!! A day with no kitty deaths!

However, on this day of amnesty, there are still many cats that are in the shelters who are starting to come down with the cold. It is only a matter of time before they wind up on the list. We can try to help them now BEFORE they wind up on the list. Please check out the FIRST ALERTS

Bert was brought into the shelter on New Years Eve. This sweet boy has been waiting for that special someone to come to his rescue. The waiting has caused Bert to catch the shelter cold, which means he will be listed very soon. Please save him before he hits the list. This is what a volunteer writes: Bert is a beautiful boy, and a real lap-cat, happily snuggling in for as long as a warm body is available! He is very calm, and un-affected by dogs being nearby. Bert was abandoned with several other cats, and deserves a safe and loving home. Come and meet this sweet guy today!

My daughter and I have been watching the videos for the past few nights now. We are both very moved by them. She is only 6.5 years old but is an animal lover already. We adopted Charlie from TOH shelter, and so she knows many of the unfortunate realities for these animals. Thank you Domino for keeping the cause going. I dont know how places like the ACC exists...take a look at tonight's list. The cats are GORGEOUS! The cats are sweet and FRIENDLY. The cats are healthy aside from a treatable cold. THEY SHOULD NOT BE KILLING THESE CATS. Please, on MLK Day, step up and DO something. . .

Dear God, Please send an angel for Norman tonight. Seeing the sadness in his eyes breaks my heart. This young, and SUPER FRIENDLY boy is waiting patiently for that special someone to come and rescue him. He's been at the shelter since 1/2/12 and his time is up. He caught the dreadful shelter cold and that is the reason the acc will end his life tomorrow. It would be a crime to have Norman leave this world for such nonsense. There are 20 cats on the list tonight. Three of them were were housemates of Karina who was on last night's list. These cats were surrendered because the owner had too many pets and a neighbor did her a "favor." At least six cats were done a "favor" and brought to be killed at the shelter...three have found homes...lets pray that these three find homes as well. They shouldn't have to suffer because of an irresponsible owner and an ignorant neighbor.

Sarah is a good example of how friendly cats wind up being killed and having no chance at the ACC. First, she was betrayed by her owners when they moved and decided she was not worth coming with them. Then the ACC betrayed her. She was originally given an average rating and was going to be moved to adoptions but she apparently did not care for her treatment from the Animal Control Officer, got hissey with him, got marked NH Only and got put on the kill list instead of in adoptions. Who knows how this idiot tried to transport her? Maybe he had just stuck a cat with a needle and Sarah smelt death on him and thought it was her turn. This is no reason to kill a cat. Wont you please step up and help Sarah get out of this hell hole NOW?

It has been discovered that the neighbor that has surrendered some of the cats over the past few days "as a favor" is "known." He has been known to go around, trapping cats and having them euthanized claiming it is the humane thing to do to help the overpopulation of homeless cats. Nala has nothing but sadness in her eyes. She was taken to this awful place by her family because of moving, allergies, family changes, Financial. Yes they have stated every excuse in the book. What they may or may not know is that Nala only has until tonight to be saved. She received an EXCELLENT behavior evaluation, which means she would make a purrfect addition to any new family. She will be another victim unless you intervene. Don't let her die for a treatable cold. Once she is gone there is no turning back time. From what I understand all the cats on last night's list have been saved It is amazing how hard these NH rescues work to save these cats. It couldnt be done without fosters though. Please, if you cant commit to a cat long term, how about giving a death row kitty a temporary home there are only three cats on the list tonight. Two are part Himalayan mixes and are beautiful. The other has no picture and he will be my featured cat tonight. All three of these cats were not well taken care of which should be no surprise as no loving, caring pet owner would dump their beloved pet at the ACC

Carlos has no picture because he came in with a bloody nose. His "owner" said he lived in the basement for 2 years and yet he was surrendered because of allergies On top of that his oblivious "owner" thinks this INTACT cat is a female. Carlos is 8 years old and clearly been neglected and unloved. Carlos deserves better. He deserves the chance at a better life. Will you be his angel and give him the love he craves?

Sugar sure has gotten dealt a horrible hand. Not only has she been dumped at the kill shelter after 10 years of being someone's pet, but she was dumped for the "NO TIME" excuse. I dont need to reiterate how much this excuse BURNS MY AZZ. Then on top of it, the ACC is going to kill her for no reason. Nope...not even their made up shelter cold excuse. She has been labeled as being NH for being scared and hissy. (Please read my note regarding Sushi). I feel terrible for poor sweet sugar. Wont you please share Sugar? Perhaps consider adopting? Fostering even? Sugar will die in the morning if no one helps her

oh boy...the streak is over...and to top it off there are 25 fabulous cats on the list tonight. Most of them came from adoptions (very friendly kitties) and have just caught the damn shelter cold. I can barely look at their gorgeous faces. I want to save them all and my heart tells me there are certainly not enough fosters for all these cats. I had to list Princess too because I think it is horrible to separate housemates who have gotten attached to each other. Cats just like people get attached and mourn. It is bad enough that these two cats have lost their homes, they shouldnt have to lose each other too. Please share these kitties and maybe we can keep them together.

Chickie is 13 years old. The person that surrendered her, claims that she was a stray and they have had her for a week. Personally, I think that is a lie, but be that as it may, perhaps the reason this poor cat has not eaten for a week is that she has NO TEETH and she was being fed DRY CAT FOOD. Can we please share Chickie? This senior black cat should not die tomorrow because she was dumped on the street and found by an idiot. She needs a safe home now. Tomorrow will be too late.

At first glance, there are a lot of "aggressive" cats on the list tonight. As I describe below, Sushi at first glance would fit this catagory too and I had a pretty good reminder of it today when I took her to the vet for her yearly rabies shot. She would not come out of the carrier and they had to remove her with gloves. The way she acted you'd think she was feral. She growled, bit, hissed, cried, struck...you name it, she did it (she also scratched the vet BAD but that is a story for another thread. But you know what? She was scared Sh!tless. She got stuck with a needle, was being touched where she doesnt like and had to be wrapped in a towel to have her nails clipped. And yet, the minute I got her home and back in my bedroom, she was fine. The ACC in 3 seconds evaluates these animals and doesnt take fear into account. Please don't let a NH behavior rating stop you. Sushi wouldn't deserve to be put down and neither should these cats.

Poor Shadow's owner is in the hospital. Instead of keeping poor Shadow, they decided that they would put her out to pasture as well. Now Shadow has been left at the ACC to wonder where her beloved owner is and will likely die tomorrow. This is no way to treat this 11 year old kitty that has been a loyal pet for all these years. Wont you please step up and save Shadow?
