Well, even though tomorrow is a holiday for many, Veteran's day is clearly not celebrated at the ACC. The killing will begin tomorrow again at 6am. For a little good news, Mushesgirl will be happy to know that her shared kitty, Phantom, has been rescued Chat Icon And because there is always bad when dealing with the ACC, there are some STUNNINGLY beautiful kitties on the list tonight Chat Icon

Kill List for FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 11, 2011

DOMINO'S FEATURED CAT: King
I have seriously heard it all now. Want to know why 7 month old King's owner thought he should die tomorrow? Fleas. Yeah...I said it...FLEAS. Instead of getting his kitty a dose of frontline, he decided to drop him off at the KILL SHELTER. Some people should be banned from pet ownership. It should also be noted that there is no indication that this cat even HAD fleas, however, he now has the shelter cold which is their justification for killing him tomorrow. Is there any "real" pet owner that will step up and save King?

Wow i just saw this hooray for phantom

There are left over kitties from last night's list. I pray that they find themselves safe come the morning. There are also kitty brothers who have been separated from their mamma and sister (who are not on the list). Other than the shelter cold that they picked up, they are purrrrfectly healthy and just need 10 days of antibiotics. I hope someone will step up and help this little kitty family Chat Icon

Kill List December 1, 2011

DOMINO'S FEATURED CAT: Shirley
Some people $uck. Here's what i did when I found out my Sushi Girl had a mass on her tail. I TOOK HER TO THE VET. Not ONCE did the thought of bringing her to a KILL SHELTER enter my mind. Yet, that is what Shirley's owners did. I cannot even imagine how long they have ignored this. i hope these owners get sick and no one takes THEM to the doctor Chat Icon

I just wanted to add an update on two kitties- I hope that's ok :).

Donald is doing well http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10150404759505819&set=a.10150391102515819.371945.604470818&type=1&theater

And Pitch is doing well, too. If you look on Empty Cages Collective, I asked how he was doing.

Re: New Kill List for FRIDAY, December 2, 2011 - High Kill Shelters - Please Adopt or Foster -

I know I have commented below about Sushi and her hissiness, but I think in light of the list tonight, I really should expand. The ACC is out of control with these behavior ratings. BOTH of my cats when I take them to the vet, sit on the table and hardly move. When I took Sushi to the vet last Friday, she had a little hissiness (especially when they took her temperature Chat Icon But that was nothing compared to when I took her Tuesday. She refused to come out of the carrier. The assistant had to wear gloves and pry her out. They had to wrap her in a towel. You would think she was the most vicious feral antisocial cat going. The ACC would deem her unadoptable and NH. The minute we got home and I opened her carrier, she jumped up on my bed and let me pet her, licked my hand and purred up a storm...so much for my non-social cat Chat Icon The lesson here is to take the ACC behavior ratings with a grain of salt. These cats have been locked in a cage, are poked, prodded, stuck with needles and are scared. Some have had their babies aborted. Some are hurt. I can tell you that if I was injured, stuffed in a cage, and had my babies ripped from me, I just might claw your eyes out (and who could blame me???) Chat Icon

Kill List December 2, 2011

DOMINO'S FEATURED CAT: CHAQUI CHAG
****SPECIAL NEEDS KITTY****
What happens when someone brings in their cat but doesnt want to pay the surrender fee? They are listed as stray. This is misleading because Chaqui Chag was not a stray. Likely her owner took the cowardly way out and dropped her off because of her age and her health. Another case where an owner thought their pet was disposable. Chaqui Chag needs an angel tonight. She is blind and missing most of her teeth. She also has a cold which makes smelling her food impossible. Which of course has led to her not eating. This senior kitty deserves a special home to live out remaining years. Are you her special angel?

The bad news is that CHAQUI CHAG was not rescued. The good news is that she has second chance as she is alive and on this list again tonight. Where are the angels? This senior, blind and toothless kitty needs a safe home to live out her remaining years. Wont you step up and foster her tonight?

Kill List December 3, 2011

DOMINO'S FEATURED CAT: QUEENIE
Queenie lost her family when her family became homeless and abandoned her. While she may not like other cats, she is friendly towards people and children and would make a loving addition to your family. Wont you help Queenie and give her a new home?

DOMINO'S FEATURED CAT: NEMO
Clearly Nemo got lost or was "asked to leave" because strays dont weigh 20 lbs!!! Is someone trying to find Nemo? They havent yet. Maybe you'll step forward and give Nemo a home?

I'm so sad to see tonight's list. There is a mama kitty on there with four of her babies. They have ringworm and for that reason they are all going to die tomorrow. Ringworm is treatable and should not be a reason to kill a whole kitty family. Wont someone agree to foster this family. If no one steps up they will die in the morning Chat Icon

Kill List December 5, 2011

DOMINO'S FEATURED CAT: Pretty Boy
Pretty boy's owner is sick and can no longer take care of him. He loves children, is friendly and is a great companion. Perhaps his owner thought since he is so loveable that he'd be adopted in no time. Unfortunately Pretty Boy is scared at the ACC. With their screwed up behavior ratings they deem him unadoptable because he flinches when touched. Please, wont someone step up and adopt this pretty boy, 2 year old russian blue?External Image

No one came to find Nemo or rescue him so he is gone. RIP Nemo Chat Icon There is a sad kitty on tonight's list called Grandma. Please take a moment to consider what will happen to your pets should you pass. Can you guarantee that someone will take them? Please make provisions in your will for your precious furbabies. Set up a trust so they will be taken care of and never wind up like Grandma has. Once you are gone they have no one to speak for them Chat Icon

Kill List December 7, 2011

DOMINO'S FEATURED CAT: Ally
Ally is 8 years old and likely blind. This kitty deserves extra care and instead her owners moved and instead of taking her with them, dropped her off to be killed. The shelter notes indicate that she allows all handling. Wont you step up and give Ally the love that she deserves?

There are many senior kitties on tonight's list and it makes me angry. Why after 14 years of pet ownership would you dump your kitty off at a kill shelter? Dont you think it would be more humane to take her to the vet and have her last moments be in your arms? They ones she has come to trust and depend on? No. Instead dump her at the shelter where she has nearly ZERO chance of being rescued, stuffed in a cage and die on a cold table, alone and terrified among strangers. Some people should never be allowed to own pets. Chat Icon

Kill List December 8, 2011

DOMINO'S FEATURED CAT: Dulcy
There has been talk on these boards about lovey dovey cats. Well i can just about guarantee that Dulcy is one of them! This sweet year old kitty has been known to roll around her cage and purr! She is perfect for adoptions. However, she caught the shelter cold and instead of allowing her to take her 10 days of antibiotics, they will kill this sweet cat in the morning. Someone please save her Chat Icon

There is a beautiful young kitty named promise on the list tonight who is going to die tomorrow for no reason. The ACC at first thought she had ringworm but the test was negative. No cold. No ringworm. No aggression. And yet the kitty dies tomorrow Chat Icon

Kill List December 8, 2011

DOMINO'S FEATURED CAT: Brucey
You see Brucey's eyes? Those big round eyes are the eyes of fear. Brucey was dumped at the shelter when his owners decided he was only temporary and was not included in their moving plans. Even though he is terrified he leans into petting and his "owners" describe him as very friendly.

Tonight's list contains two injured kitties who are going to require medical care. HOWEVER, an anonymous donor has agreed to provide vet care for free. There is nothing I hate more than seeing cats suffering in cages. Wont someone please step up and agree to foster or adopt one of these precious cats? Chat Icon

Kill List December 9, 2011

DOMINO'S FEATURED CAT: Promise
I mentioned Promise last night. Tonight will be his THIRD time on the list. The ACC seems hell bent on killing Promise even though there is nothing wrong with him. They thought he had ringworm but his test came back negative. He doesnt even have a cold...and yet they are going to kill this adorable cat? Wont someone step up and PROMISE to save him?

i could cry. There are so many sweet cats on the list tonight. I dont know which one to pick. They all deserve homes and almost all of them are going to die tomorrow. Kitties are literally rolling around in their cages, seeking belly rubs and purring. And they're going to die....alright I AM crying Chat Icon

Kill List December 10, 2011

DOMINO'S FEATURED CAT: Princess
Take a good look at Princess' face. Do want to take a guess at why she is going to die tomorrow? Nope...not the shelter cold...guess again...aggression? She is scared but that's not it either. Princess is pregnant. She is late term and her fetuses are well developed. How can humans be so cruel? This beautiful mama cat and all her unborn kitties are going to die tomorrow if no one steps up to save her. I feel sick Chat Icon

Re: New Kill List for SUNDAY, December 11, 2011 - High Kill Shelters - Please Adopt or Foster -

I have tentative good news on Brucey and Promise. They are still listed at being at the shelter but notes show that they are being adopted. I have not received any news about last night's pregnant Princess. All I can do is Chat Icon that she and her unborn kitties are safe. Before I get to tonight's list, I want to make a plea for a special kitty that has found his way back into the shelter. He was on the list two months ago and was saved. This person has had him and states that he is a total love bug to humans, but does not seem to do well with small dogs (med to large are ok) or cats. Instead of isolating him from her other animals, this person has returned him to the very shelter that she saved him from. It is only a matter of time before he winds up back on the list. I have been spreading the word and hope we can get him a furrrever home BEFORE he hits the list.

Now to the list...more kitties to die tomorrow until someone steps up.....
Kill List December 11, 2011

DOMINO'S FEATURED CAT: Bud
Bud's owners dumped him at the shelter because of "allergies" and family changes. Bud is scared...but to take points off his behavior rating because he will "flee?" If someone stuffed ME in a cage and then the door opened, my azz would be fleeing too. However, he seemed content enough out of his cage to just chill out for his picture Chat Icon Bud is a BIG boy at over 18lbs but he doesnt appear fat...just big boned Chat Icon Please save this handsome boy!!!

I keep looking at the list tonight and am having a hard time picking a kitty...so many black and white kitties that hold a special place in my heart. It is so sad to see their little faces knowing that most of them were betrayed by their owners. That one day they roamed free and the next they were shoved into a cage. They are going to die tomorrow if people dont step up and save them Chat Icon

Kill List December 12, 2011

DOMINO'S FEATURED CAT: MARCOS
Marcos has gotten a bad rap from his former owners. First, they cant make up their mind why they're dropping him at the shelter...do you have too many pets (they also brought in two other cats) or is Marcos a "destructive" cat. They say he scratches strangers, although when a stranger, at a strange place, stuck their hand in his cage, he didnt scratch them :rolleys: Marcos clearly was misunderstood...maybe it was the STRANGER that was the problem, not poor Marcos. Wont you consider fostering him so he dosesnt die tomorrow morning?

Re: New Kill List for TUESDAY, December 13, 2011 - High Kill Shelters - Please Adopt or Foster -

So sad tonight. First, I'm not feeling well and had a heck of a time today caring for 2 y/o DS who is also sick. Then I come on here and see 5 day old kitties that were born in the shelter who have been separated from they mommy (Tiffany, who is also on the list) and are going to die tomorrow without any chance at adoption. I worked so hard today, sick and all, to give my little munchkin all I could and dont even feel like I did good enough and here is this poor, scared mama, sitting in a cage wondering where here kitties are. Do you blame her for having a "bad" behavior rating? This family needs someone to foster them, tonight. Tomorrow will be too late Chat Icon

Hi! My name is Bonkers and I am here because my family is moving and they chose not to take me. I dont know why. They had such good things to say about me. Ok...I maybe a little "big boned" but I'm a boy! Come on! I'm just plump! Please...if you get me out of here I promise I will sit on your lap forever...please? Cats who have been loyal pets for YEARS. Where is YOUR loyalty? I just want a home...please? Can you bring me home for the holidays? Before I get into tonight's list I just wanted to urge anyone who has a few extra dollars to consider donating to a local rescue or shelter. I was reminded today when I got a letter in the mail from Compassionate Beings, the organization that I adopted Miso from. Without their hard work and support, I would not have been blessed with my big mush ball.

DOMINO'S FEATURED CAT: Telly
Telly has been on this list since Monday. There must be some reason the ACC continues to spare her. She is so majestic in her posture even though it is clear she does not feel well. That darn shelter cold has turned into conjunctivitis. Is there someone out there who can open their hearts and adopt Telly? She is friendly and allows all handling...Chat Icon

DOMINO'S FEATURED CAT: Max
My name is Max and for the last 14 years I lived with my humans but they suddenly seem to have developed allergies and no longer want me. I have a UTI so I may have tinkled outside of the box because of it. I couldnt help it...it hurts so bad. I dont know why they didnt take me to the vet....although they had no problem taking me to the vet and getting ALL my toes cut off. I'm old and I'm afraid. Whatever the reason is that they dumped me here, it shouldnt mean that I should die tomorrow. Wont you please let me live with you? Please....? My name is Max and I dont want to die.

Kill List December 17, 2011

DOMINO'S FEATURED CAT: Tonight there are only three cats so they are all getting featured!
Memo
Are you sick of hearing me vent about the allergy excuse? Good...'cause I'm tired of typing it. Poor 8 year old Memo was dumped at the shelter due to allergies...but when further asked on the questionaire, his owners stated financial. All sounds like BS to me. Because they were irresponsible pet owners, gorgeous Memo is going to die tomorrow. DONT LET IT HAPPEN!
External Image

Max
Since they only had him for a week, I will attempt to give Max's "surrenderers" the benefit of the doubt in thinking they found him on the street, took him in and then their landlord found out. however, whatever the reason, sweet Max needs a home. those that brought him in describe him as a calm cat who loves to be pet and picked up. Sounds like Max would be purrrrfect anywhere. Please give him a home...we cant let him die Chat Icon
External Image

Simba
This cat is terrified (please take note of my kitty Sushi below). Not every cat is PTS because they get the shelter cold. The ACC in their descretion can kill a cat they deem a danger. This cat is 11 lbs (not a stray) and neutered (no eartipping so not TNR feral). Means he was someone's pet at one point. He will need time but being scared is NOT a reason to kill a kitty. Lets not let tonight be Simba's last day. Lets save him too Chat Icon
