Day after day, the things that go on in the ACC makes me so sad. Tonight there is a pregnant mama on the list. There is also a mama and her little 2 week old baby. The justification for killing the nursing baby is that mama has a cold and since the baby needs his mama he must die. Sounds like flawed circular logic to me

Tonight is a bad night at the ACC (not that ANY night is a GOOD night. Looks like they are cleaning house and putting down a lot of injured kitties. Kitties that if they just had a little time and a little vet care would be good as new. Certainly not life threatening like the guidelines would suggest. But they will never get the chance to heal, because they're going to die tomorrow. Along with a mama and her sweet little newborn kitties.

Well King, the cat whose owner surrendered him due to fleas, is dead. I was so hoping that someone would have saved him from that pitiful excuse. I guess I will have to wait for karma to get his former owner.

Good news about poor, tiny, little Smiley. Someone has stepped up and saved him and he is at the vet as I type this! Now on to the list It would appear that tomorrow is kill a black kitty day. There are 15 black cats (most of them kittens) that are scheduled to die in the morning. Just two weeks after halloween it has already begun....wont someone step up and give them a home...black cats are actually GOOD LUCK!

See this mug shot? Apparently this is the face of a "vicious cat." It's all in the report. He was also "breaking and entering." So the police were called and Zorro was "arrested." Funny thing though, he was not charged with resisting arrest. In fact he was a model prisoner. Not a vicious bone in his body according to the officer. Sounds to me like Zorro was framed! Dont let him be given the death penalty for crimes he did not commit. Kitties are innocent until proven guilty too you know! Instead, Zorro would be more than happy to go home with you and be put on house arrest for the rest of his life. Wont you step up and get poor Zorro out of jail?

If anyone is looking for an orange kitty there are some pretty ones on the list. And if you want an absolute DROP DEAD GORGEOUS kitty, make sure you check out red. There are all shapes and sizes on the list tonight (many left over from halloween black kitties). I am certain there is a pretty kitty that look so pretty on your couch (ok..my lame sales pitch). Seriously, though. Wont you find it in your heart to save a kitty tonight? They will all die tomorrow without people to step up and foster/adopt/share.

Night after night I update this list and morning after morning I see kitty after kitty get added to the Gone But Not Forgotten :( album. If you cant foster or adopt, wont you at least share a kitty on facebook? Maybe a friend of a friend of a friend would like to save a cat?

DOMINO'S FEATURED CAT: Kay - RIP
Kay is injured and needs you. I cant stand to see an animal suffer and clearly Kay is not getting the care she needs. The ACC may feel that an abscess is a reason to kill a perfectly sweet and otherwise healthy kitty but I disagree. Even through the pain, she is loveable. She is apparently a shelter favorite (even after only 3 days) as one volunteer wrote: This very sweet kitty has an abscess on her left stifle, and as such, she isn't bearing weight on that leg. The wound will require follow up care, but don't let that deter you from pulling her! She's totally adorable...

I have a black and white cat named Miso. I rescued him from a cage in Petco. He is the biggest mushiest goof ball. Every time I see a black and white kitty on these lists, I think of him. I think what would have happened had I not rescued him from that cage. What would have become of him? I think about how much joy he has given me. How sweet he is when he takes treats out of my 2 y/o DS' hand. Wont you help save a black and white kitty from dying in the morning?

First, I want to thank everyone for their support. I admit, I didnt update this post Saturday night. I had to leave before the list was posted and got back at midnight. I figured that people on here didnt care anyway and because of the hour it would be too late to save a kitty anyway. Shame on me. Second, there was no list last night. It would appear that the ACC's computers were down and were unable to publish one. Good news is that no kitties were killed this morning. Bad news is they have made up for it by putting FIFTY cats on the list for tonight. Yes, FIFTY cats will be executed with a needle tomorrow. Wont someone step up and foster one? Adopt one? Share on FB?

I am happy to update that both LEXUS and SMOKEY have been rescued and are safe

Ok....***** ALERT*****. Pitch is going to die tomorrow because of the "new baby" excuse. After six years as a beloved pet, he has been replaced by the new baby. They claim that their new baby "may" be allergic. FYI it is uncommon for babies to have environmental allergies. They typically develop after a year. What IS common is for newborns to SNEEZE....a lot. Do some research. Talk to your pediatrician. Speak to your vet. More likely these "owners" decided they HAD NO TIME for poor Pitch. Because we all know that you cant POSSIBLY care for a pet AND a baby After all it would be SO UNFAIR to the new baby to SACRIFICE five minutes from the day to feed the cat and change his litter. It would be terribly difficult to SPLIT TIME between the newborn and your animal who only needs a little affection. It would be so unreasonable that when your newborn is SLEEPING to play with your FIRST baby for 10 minutes. NEW BABY and NO TIME excuses make me want to Because of IRRESPONSIBLE and SELFISH owners, Pitch is going to be given a needle in the morning and his gorgeous black kitty body will be PITCHed in the freezer.

Pitch is one of them (the ACC usually only spares the "shelter favorites"). Shera's owners are moving but 8 year old Shera who has only known a safe home is not allowed to go too. She has been left behind with the hope of her owners that the SHELTER find her a good home. Too bad that's not their job. Even though Shera is a sweet loving cat, she will die tomorrow because her owners gave her up when it was THEIR job to give her the good home. The only home Shera is going to find tomorrow is a home on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge. Wont someone please save this beautiful kitty?

I have to tell you that I look for this thread every night. I don't know what it is. I can't take in a cat. Most of the people I know aren't in a situation to take in a cat either. Yet I do look for the thread every night and it makes my heart go out to those kitties.

Shera is beautiful --- such eyes.

Domino, since you've started this thread I think I am slowly becoming such a shelter-pet person. I just keep feeling more and more strongly like every shelter animal needs a home. I told DH this morning that one day we need to buy a huge farm so we can have like 10 dogs and enough space for all of them!

I hope someone steps up and gives Shera a great new home, she really is a beautiful cat!

Tonight is Thanksgiving Eve and therefore no list tonight or tomorrow. The list will be back up on Friday night and I am certain it will be a long one. Pitch is still at the shelter (he survived two nights of being on the list. However, he is sick and without PROPER vet care, it would appear that he is not going to make it. Please keep Pitch in your prayers and thoughts. Lets pray that someone will save him and he wont suffer anymore :forlor: I hate his former owners...I really do... It should also be noted that just because there is no list does not mean there aren't any kitties to be saved. The cats that wind up on the e-list typically come from the adoption part of the shelter. Until they get the shelter cold...which they all do eventually if they are not adopted quick enough. So tonight I post the First Alert List. These are the cats that are in danger of winding up on the list. Lets try to save them BEFORE they only have 24 hours left to live.

Twylight is another cat who was betrayed by her owners. She was left behind at the shelter when her family moved and didnt take her with them. She is 12 year old and thinks sitting at the front of a cage is silly. Instead she waits for people to come to her. AND SHE LOVES IT. It is clear that she is a shelter favorite as volunteers keep leaving notes on her. Wont you please adopt her BEFORE she gets sick and winds up on the kill list?

So here we are...the Friday after Thanksgiving and 35 cats on the list tonight. There are a lot of kittens tonight. Itty bitty baby kitties who need homes or they will die in the morning. There is also a kitty who was clearly surrendered by a young child as she states the reason for giving up as "My mom is having a baby." I really dont know what kind of person would send their child in to have their cat killed because they were pregnant Please someone? Anyone?

Donald was mistakingly put on a kill list Thanksgiving Eve, even though there were not going to kill any kitties for two days. Because of this I have had a couple of days to look at and bond with Donald. All you have to do is look at that face and see how sad he is. In a happier life I could imagine him smiling as he seems to have such a goofy clown like face. Wont someone out there make him happy again and give him another change to smile again and make you laugh?

Instead of looking for a place that accepted cats they betrayed Sasha after 11 years by dumping her at a HIGH KILL SHELTER. Oliver (who is a girl by the way) was on the list last night. While I am sorry to see her on the list again, at least she is still alive to be on it for two nights in a row. I pray that this gorgeous little 15 week old kitty who has been given a second chance, will be saved tonight. It should be a crime to kill a kitty as beautiful and sweet as this one, just for a cold.

Prince is not doing well in the shelter environment. Instead of his owners finding a new home for him when an allergic relative moved in, they brought him to a KILL SHELTER. Maybe his owners thought since he was so sweet he would be adopted with no problem. That was not the case and unless someone looks past his poor shelter behavior, he is going to die tomorrow because his owners betrayed him and because he his scared. Someone please save Prince
