"They" are not making it mandatory. Private businesses can set rules for admission, as long as those rules are do not discriminate based on set classifications. Vaccine status is not one of those classes. If an establishment has decided that they will only allow those who have been vaccinated to be admitted to their venue, you do have a choice - get the vaccine or don't go. Nothing about that is "mandatory"
This x 100000000
It's amazing how certain people who don't want to get the vaccine seem perfectly fine to have the rest of the public get it (usually for their comfort of being surrounded by vaccinated people), yet it's these same people that are the first to complain about being singled out by private businesses that prefer to only allow vaccinated people to attend. While I am sure not everybody has this opinion, many do and I have read the "i'll wait for everyone else to get it" comments on it. You can't have your cake and eat it too.
This is one of the most ridiculous things I have ever heard. I actually feel MORE uncomfortable around vaccinated people than unvaccinated because many of the vaccinated people I know are living like they are now fully immune to covid - throwing caution to the wind and not wearing masks etc. It’s super confusing since there have been many cases of vaccinated people getting and spreading covid. I’m not sure if these people are stupid or just living in a bubble. I would take my chances around an unvaccinated super cautious person any day! Second, the people I know that aren’t getting the vaccine hope their family and friends wait as well until there is more data etc because they love them and want them to stay healthy and safe (if that’s their opinion). Your statement has no validity whatsoever.
Well then the people you know are morons, whether they are vaccinated or not. Nobody should be living their pre-covid life right now, vaccinated or not.
You'd be surprised. There is a lot of people who are getting the vaccine and going back to normal. Now they can hang out again, no masks etc.
I don't care at this point, to each their own, but I do believe that is the majority thought process. Look at posts from this site or even the CDC's recommendation that you can hang out with other vaccinated folks with no mask. Basically telling people its ok to go back to pre-covid. So I cant really blame people for thinking this way as well.
And the nonsense like this that has been going around. IMAGE

There was even an article somewhere yesterday how young people can't wait to have a summer of casual sex and bar hook ups etc because they are all vaccinated now. Great....
Honestly I think they are clueless as they most likely haven’t stopped.

No! Didn't you hear? The only thing that can kill you or make you sick is Covid. We wipe that out with a vaccine, bam! Caution to the wind!

My child’s teacher has stopped wearing a mask. Tells the class, I don’t have to wear a mask because I am vaccinated. This is in a classroom that is packed to the gills 3 feet apart with the new cdc guidance. Meanwhile I saw an article the other day maybe it was the post I can’t remember of a vaccinated teacher that had covid. It’s honestly very disconcerting. You can only imagine a person that would say that is not wearing a mask in their private life either. I would rather the teacher not be vaccinated and be cautious and masked up honestly.

Wow. I'd be calling the principal ASAP on that. That has to be against school policy. That is utter and complete BULLSHITT!

And now Pfizer says a 3rd dose may be needed at the 6 month mark. Good luck policing who is fully vaccinated.

You are missing context. That would be to account for the variants. A "tweaked" shot so to speak.
Pfizer has said they expect a COVID vaccine will be an annual shot as viruses mutate over time.
As for ensuring people are fully vaccinated, what is your concern? Why would someone need to be "policed"? Anyone who wants the vaccine certainly wants to be FULLY vaccinated. Why would anyone half a$$ it?

I mean policing as in making sure all these colleges requiring are going to make sure each student and staff member has all 3 shots. Or do they need them prior to September? Can they get just 2? What about venues, I lost my card so I have no proof. It goes on and on.
And based on my in-laws reaction to the second shot, no way are they going to subject themselves to a third. I doubt they would do it annually.

Just go on news12 on fb and you will see many saying the same thing. They were so sick they won’t do it again as they might say 6-12 months but change their mind in 3 months.

However, MILLIONS would tell you that getting sick for a day or two after a vaccine was worth it especially if it means getting back to normal. A handful of people here and there that wouldn't want the vaccine again will be statistically insignificant.

After you get it, come back and let us know how bad it was compared to the Covid you had and if you would take it more then once at the rate of feeling like you were dying.

Most of my family and friends are now vaccinated. They had flu like symptoms for 24 hrs and then they were fine. Some had no reaction at all. The instances you're speaking to are the extreme, not the norm for reactions.
As for myself, I never want to go through the stress of COVID again without having some level of protection, I'll shoulder the risk of feeling like crap for a day or two in order to be vaccinated.

I won't get it again until I am at the age where I am actually at risk for getting sick and dying from covid. I also won't be getting it for my children anytime soon. Not sure how I will handle it when the mandate it in NY.

You cannot judge anything about rates of extreme reactions from social media. It's anecdotal.
Someone with an "extreme" experience is going to be more likely to be vocal about it which will skew the numbers.
Even the busiest FB page is going to have a fraction of the people who got the shot commenting.
None of that chatter matters in terms of drawing conclusions.
